Correction… yesterday I couldn’t use any of the functions in the app. Today I can. Don’t know what that’s about, but we’ll see what tomorrow brings 🫠
I’m a book nut, and have started to transfer to EAudio for when I have stuff to do, and want to listen. Mostly, I’ve stuck with Audible and I’m thinking that’s a mistake.
They seem to take every opportunity to screw the customers over from my experience.
Anyone else have any experiences like this? (And yes, I checked the T&C’s as all these issues came up)
- sign up for a year, and if you use your credits early, you can renew for another year… but they won’t honour the first year you paid for, so you loose the rest of the first year (free plus catalog, sales & daily deals). I saw nothing saying you’d loose those months in the invitation to renew early. So I paid for 24mths and got 14mths.
- use credits, get vouchers for free, promotion… but we won’t always let you use those vouchers, and then because you haven’t used them, we’ll tell you they’ve expired, though we’ll still leave them showing in your profile.
- and/or, we’ll let you use some of the vouchers, sometimes. You have $80 in vouchers, and you’re buying $85 worth of books… so they’ll use $15/20 (or $0!) of vouchers, and charge you the rest on your card. When they should be using the vouchers first in full!
- you get credits in your membership, but if you let your membership lapse, we’ll cancel any unused credits. This seems to be new. Your credits used to be available to use even if you didn’t have an active membership.
- we’ll advertise getting free credits for so many credits used… but we won’t count all the credits you use.
- again, new… my membership has lapsed, and I’ve found I can listen to the books I OWN… but I no longer have access to most of the functions of the app. I can skip chapters backwards or forward, but not the seconds. I can’t even scroll through the time scale on the book to find the last place I remember hearing, or to relisten to something without starting the chapter again. Also inactive in the app is listening speed, car mode, and the timer/sleep mode. No setting it to turn off in an hour or at the end of the next chapter etc. This is a huge issue. We own the books on their platform, but they won’t let us have full functionality unless we are giving them more money. The last time my membership lapsed, I was able to continue using the app in full.
- I’ve spent hours on the chat line being told, absolutely not, this thing you ask (that usually matches their T&C’s) can’t possibly be done. Literally not possible!!! Which unfortunately turns me into a Karen, insisting on speaking to a manager… who says (usually in minutes), yes of course what you saying is correct and we’ll fix it. Although I will admit, especially with the voucher issues, it has taken a few contacts and several months for it to be sorted completely. It seemed they’re reactive some, and go back to allowing partial use like above.
There’s more, but overall it seems their business plan is to under supply on their services and then just say no no no, until the customer gives up. I’m guessing most people wouldn’t push as hard as I have to get what they say they were actually going to provide. They would make a considerable bonus profit on what I see as under supplying on their side of the bargain. I never got the full 24mths I paid for because I haven’t had the time to find the applicable T&C’s from that purchase, so I haven’t pushed it. But I’ve saved a substantial amount by pushing for what they advertised.
If they’d treat the customers as customers and not stupid cash cows, they’d likely make more money because we’d feel like they were a reliable source and be comfortable sticking with them.
At the moment, I’m really not sure I’d ever be comfortable using Audible for any new purchases, and it annoys me greatly that they have limited my use of the books I own through them.
Anyone else have issues?

It will still be in your listened log on audible, even if you delete it from your library.

Do the guys band show up to play and get pissed at hearing someone else playing their instruments? Then they realise they’re good… and they are the women?Think the MFC’s mum pushed her into acting, and the bff was just modelling until the MFC came to her senses and refocused on music like she’d always wanted to.
There’s also an element of all the band bunnies are sluts and whores because they want to screw the band, but the guys are just guys for screwing every bunny they trip over.
Think this might be the same book I’m looking for, but I haven’t had a solve yet either 🤞
