Pretty sure it was an ex seal team in security. They were hired to quietly rescue some rich chick (politician daughter?) from Mexico (slavers?).

When one of them enters to get her, he get her dressed in the clothes he brought for her for a trek out through the jungle. At the last minute, he sees something and realises there’s another (American) girl being held.

The rich chick is all ‘your here for me, forget her!’, but he refuses to leave her and they do their best to clothe her.

Once out, I’m pretty sure she stays with him and there might be his well trained dogs.

Then again, writing this, I remember another similar book where they go in for one, and find another unconscious girl. They rescue the second girl and are relieved that she American when she wakes.

I hate it when the authors switch the covers… but I’ll admit I am influenced by them. I’ve bypassed books for years, only to give them a go with a different cover (knowingly). Or had trouble starting a reread of a book I liked because I don’t like the new cover. 🤦‍♀️
