Oh hello main villain, nice to finally meet you some 85% of the way into the book. Great timing, great timing.
The first half of my walk to the library today should be interesting. I'm returning 12 books to the library today and there are four of them that are big hardcover comic books. My bag feels like it it has rocks in it currently. I'm then picking up 9 more books today but those are all light manga so it won't be as bad coming back.
It's the weekend! Or close enough in my opinion. After the events of this week and especially some of the events that transpired today I'm ready to be away from this place. Even if it's only for a couple of days.
I just feel like I don't have enough time for everything I want to do. Work is busy, hobbies are busy, I need to walk more, library books are busy, everything is busy. Today in general was just stressful as well. My coworker was working off site so I was trying to take care of everything in the shop solo while everyone was looking for something from us.
I just want to crawl into a cave with my stacks of books that are piling up and and some snacks and not be seen for a while. No promises I won't hiss or fling rocks at anyone who disturbs me.
I just had one of those horrifying moments where you break something you shouldn't and your brain just kind of panics for a second. Then you step back, look at it, realize your just dumb for panicking, then fix the stupid thing you did. It's going to be an interesting day.
Man work is just hopping right now. Every time I turn around there is a new order that needs to be done. Things we haven't done in years are suddenly getting ordered in bulk. I'm just glad that we got that new wrapping machine because we are going to be working that thing hard the next few months.

If I have to have this stuck in my head I am sharing the pain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPrnd...
Rattles his cage while he waits for his new shiny tool to arrive. Pretty much all my work this week needs this tool. I should be getting it this afternoon but until then I'm dead in the water.
Well apparently me tightening down a cap screw with a wrench is riveting material that needs to recorded for future generations to marvel over. On a side note one of my more expensive tools died today. No warning, no fore shadowing, nothing. Just working one minute and then dead the next. The down side is I really need that tool this week but the upside is that I get to spend the companies money to get myself a brand new shiny upgrade.
On a side note today will be a bit annoying at work. There is a film crew coming in to shoot footage for a promotional video and I want no part of that. I hate being on camera for whatever reason. Luckily I'm working on the most boring stuff possible today so I doubt they will care what I am doing. Especially since my coworker will be working on these large assemblies that needs a crane to build. Lots of exciting film potential in that and not in Gord pushing buttons on a testing meter and waiting for lights to blink off and on.
Aggressive sales people in general are just annoying. The harder and more aggressive you try to sell me on something the faster I shut down. I haven't dealt with this in a long time but I remember there was a time when you would walk into a store and you would be immediately swarmed by a sales person trying to figure out what you were buying so they could "help" you. I know it was all because of commission and they were trying to get paid but I hated that as a customer.
Oh I get that and I have no issue with them trying to get me to get a point card. It's happened before but the conversation usually ends after I say no. I was not prepared for the ramble about the socioeconomic status of the neighborhood around the store and how it personally affected the cashier. You pitched the card, I say no, you confirm I don't want the card, I confirm that I don't, conversation should end there. Meels, have a safe flight home.
I ran into the type of cashier I dislike the most today. Things started out fine. He was ringing my things through and I was packing my bags. Then came the inevitable question "Do you have the store point card?". I say no like usual and he asks if I want to get a card as I can save $10 on my next visit. Again I say no, I'm not interested. He then tries so hard to sell me on getting this point card. I'm trying to tap my card so I can get out but it's not working for what ever reason. He then starts monologuing. I'm not his first customer today that didn't want to save $10 and he doesn't understand why. Doesn't everyone want to save $10 especially with how hard things are today. I've inserted my card desperate to get away from this all but it doesn't work. The cashier then starts talking about how he lives in the area and how things have gotten so bad since the subway was installed. His rent has gone up, there is more security, but there aren't any luxuries so he isn't happy that his rent went up. He also doesn't want to move as he has become quite comfortable in his routine in the area. I'm now on my second attempt to get my card to work and internally I'm screaming at him to just shut up already. My card finally works and with a quick mumbled "thank you" I make a run for the door.
I'm curious here. How does the Will Trent series compare to the Grant County series? In particular are things as messed up with horrible broken characters like the Grant County series?
