I hate this conversation so muchPerson: "Give me an estimate when all this work will be done"
Me: "Gives an estimate including a little padding in case things go wrong"
Person: "That's not good enough I need it by this time"
Me: "????"
Why ask for the estimate at all? Just tell me up front that we need it by this time and we will do our best to hit that.
I haven't even been at work for 10 minutes and the stupid already started. Is it to late to call in sick?
It's Friday heading into a long weekend and work is a madhouse right now. I'm eating peanut butter with a smashed up dark chocolate bar sprinkled on top for breakfast because why not. I'm ready for this day to be done and over but it's only just begun.
I started this one this morning and I swear listening to Murderbot and Art argue is like listening to to two nerds argue. Different kinds of nerds but nerds nonetheless.
Uggghhhh, I had a mouse a few weeks back. It was kicking around for about a week and I could see/hear him from time to time. Since there has been no signs of the mouse. No sounds, no sightings, nothing. That doesn't stop my overactive mind from seeing things from the corner of my eye. Honestly, it's something stupid like my beard, my hair, eye spots, etc. Logically I know that there is no mouse or a very slim chance of it still being around but the paranoid part of my brain is convinced there is an army of mice hiding in my walls. As for screaming at insects. I've screamed like a little girl when I had a cockroach fly at my face while living in Japan. I'm sure I lost a few years off my life that day.
No, no, it's alright, go ahead and have a good laugh. At least someone is finding enjoyment from the book.As for Reincarnated as a Sword it was probably one of my favorite anime from the last season and it's the reason why I decided to pick up the novel.

that I have been meaning to read since December. It's the right kind of light and fluffy I need right now.

Lets just say I read the first couple of books and was not a fan of the series *kicks his bag of rants behind his chair*. I also tried reading the Court of Thorns and Roses and was also not a fan. Maas is one of the few authors that is on the "hard pass" list for me.
I just can't. It's been a long time since I've DNF'd a book but I just can't keep reading
. I got to about 28% and I just don't care any more. I don't care about the characters, I don't care about the meandering story, I just don't care. I'm tired of the fae/fay/fey/Fay, I'm tired about the constant changing of time lines, I'm tired of feeling like I just don't know what the hell is going on. I'm not even going to bother with Lute at this point in time. I just don't want another new untested book at this point.
I started Call of Crows and never finished the trilogy. That might be a good excuse to read the series again and score three U books for various challenges.
Just as I'm getting used to my new walk routine mother nature comes along to remind me that we are technically still in the middle of winter. It's no where near as cold as it could be for this time of year but it's pretty brisk compared to what we have had for the last month or so.
Anyone have some recommendations for an audiobook title starting with the letter U? I need one for a challenge and have been doom scrolling Libby/Hoopla for over a hour at this point in time.
There is a part of my brain that is telling me that I should not be enjoying Lets Get Textual. Then there is the other side of my brain that can't stop grinning at how adorable these two idiots are. No kidding, I find myself in the middle of my walks just grinning like a madman while listening to the two idiots "flirt". Trust me when I say that me grinning like that is not a good thing either. I probably terrify everyone that gets even the slightest glance at me. Children probably need years of therapy after witnessing it.
Wait... what? I didn't think they were full on hollow but I could have sworn I saw images and diagrams showing chambers inside the pyramid. Have I been lied to?
Now we have fey as well. So we have fae, fay, fey, and Fay all from the same group of characters in this book. For the love of all that is holy please just pick one and stick with it for more than a chapter. Is it because I'm reading a digital copy and someones spellchecker just broke on them?
I swear this book is going to drive me to drink. In one breath it's fae which is what I'm used to. In the next breath it's fay. If this was different books it wouldn't be so bad but it's in the same book. Then of course with this being an Arthurian tale there is Morgana which is yet another Fay tossed into the mix. This book also seems to be under the impression that I have an intimate knowledge of the Arthurian legends. I don't, I have a barely passable pop culture knowledge. There was Arthur, Merlin, some knights, a round table, and a place called Camelot. There is a some lady in a lake giving out swords as well. Combine all of that with a story that just meanders from past to present to future in what ever way it wants and I'm clocking out like it's 5 o'clock on a Friday afternoon.
