But I figured we don't have a thread on feminist media itself, or I must have missed it.
So, this thread is to highlight feminist media ( like the Ms. magazine is one), from around the world.
Let's put all the wonderful feminist magazines out there.
I thought we should always introduce the magazine a bit:
Name
Topics
Year founded

We all know that the US has a lot of issues when it comes to race, but what about other countries?
Probably a lot of things would come up that are hidden in the dark.
One other way to show it is what a German Twitter user came up with, who created the hashtag #MeTwo, in order to highlight racism and xenophobia in German-speaking countries.

As in, a job advertisement for, say, a software engineer would look like this:
Software engineer (m/f)
That's it.
I definitely find it important to accomodate for marginalised people, be it gender or otherwise.
I need to say that in my opinion we especially have to acommodate for marginalised people.
I think it would be a good thing not to specifically put it on the job ad, but that job recruiters and companies in general need to look out for marginalised people in the hiring process.
In light of talking about jobs and the BAME community I found this article shared by the Women's March London:

I was thinking it would be a really good idea to see where feminist movements and organisations are and what they do, especially outside the US.
In Austria, there is the Omas Gegen Rechts (Grandmas Against the Far-Right) movement, who stand for inclusion, against xenophobia and are pro-working-class, pro-employees...
They were also at the most recent mass demonstration against the government's actions toward labour rights and protections, which they are cutting down massively. At the protest, there were probably 150.000 people from all over Austria in Vienna. It was quite impressive to see the pictures.
An article that I found about them, in Spanish, is this one:

No one is denying the differences in sex characteristics between the people who we in the Western World have come to label as men and women.
But this whole debate might be better had in another thread...

This week's Skype Chat will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 21:00 UK time.
The topics will be as follows:
1.) The Constitutional Court of Austria has demanded that there must be a third gender marker possible, in accordance with Article 8 of the European Human Rights Convention. What are the implications that this holds?
2.) Which books/journals have you read recently that you enjoyed and learned a lot from? What about podcasts?
3.) Freeform Discussion

Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights states that the respect towards private and family life must be guaranteed. This also includes the protection of the human personality in its identity, individuality and integrity and thus also the sexual identity. This right also includes that humans only have to accept those gender/sex markers ascribed via state regulation, which are also in accordance with their gender/sex identity.
Article 8 grants "persons with a variation in their sex development other than male or female the right that regulations that aim at sex are acknowledging their variation of sex development as a distinct gender identity, and in particular, protects humans with alternative gender identity of an external sex assignment."
The Civil Status Law of 2013 is in accordance with this. It demands the entry of the sex in the central civl law register, as well as civil law documents. It does not, however, specify the category "sex", so there is no limitation to "male" and "female" only.
...
As terms have been suggested: "diverse" "inter" or "open"....
I didn't translate everything, but this is it in a nutshell...
I can't believe they decided that there must be more than 2 options available...

Frauenvolksbegehren 2.0:

http://www.frauencafe.com/
This cafe in Vienna is simply for women to meet and have be among themselves, but also to have projects to work on together.
http://frauenhelpline.at/sites/defaul...
The Frauenhelpline is a hotline for women in need of help, it is free within Austria.
If anyone would like to know more about organisations in Austria, that help women* and girls*, just drop me a few lines.

I'm always gonna share things like this when it helps people.
And I specifically asked, it can be shared everywhere. And where else to share it than on such a huge platform as this one?

MAG Jeunes LGBT, with the help of the UNESCO, is conducting a survey on how much LGBTI youth see themselves included in their respective countries. It is for persons that identify as LGBTI and are 26 years or younger.
If you yourself don't fall into these categories you are welcome to share it with people who do, this may be shared everywhere.
If the mods feel it is okay, they can also share it, but it is up to you folks of course to decide this or not. I'm just putting it here as I think quite a few of our members might want to fill it in.
