I don't mind that, but please be careful with your wording, because you mix things together that don't necessarily belong together.

"I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own."
And this one:
"It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences."

California made it!

I can write more about human rights implications another time, I'll need some time to collect everything together.

It's a great episode!

„Unter Gender sei in diesem Zusammenhang das von außen zugeschriebene Geschlecht gemeint, das nicht zwingend mit dem selbst empfundenem Geschlecht oder den Geschlechtsmerkmalen übereinstimmen muss, die man als außenstehende Person erwarten würde.“
"In this context, gender is to be understood as the ascribed gender from the outside, which does not have to comply with the own experienced gender or the sex characteristics that you would expect a person to have as the person looking at it from the outside."

For me it's people who are all against FGM (well, they should be...) but when someone is mentioning IGM they suddenly defend it against all odds... Hypocrites, such hypocrites!

I only got to listen to the intro yet, but damn, they sound amazing. Also really happy that it's about Europe, WoC need to be heard here too.
And it's in English, so that's a plus point too!

November 25th is the International Day For The Elimination Of Violence Against Women.
It's also the first day of the 16 days against violence against women, which end with December 10th.
Intersex women still face systematic violence from the medical community, the right to self-determination is not protected and what would amount to sexual harassment and abuse in other circumstances is not seen as such if it's intersex people being inappropriately treated.

Well, let me get started...
I feel mad about Ohio politicians, I mean FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!!
Forcing women to have children, where does this leave us? Abortions is a hot topic, yes. But this? I was cursing in the streets when I read it, and I normally never do that!
Speaking of abortions: Indigenous people in Canada TO THIS DAY get sterilized against their will, which falls under the definition of genocide.
Then of course we have our very own problems here in Austria, like the government slashing down security nets against poverty, such as minimum insurance and also they are meddling with the unemployed service, the service that helps people get hired again, either by finding job offers or extra courses to obtain more options.
I am pissed off at the hypocrisy of some of the people most close to me. It makes me sick, literally.
I am angry at the lovelessness... everyone is doing their own thing, even though things are really dire, no matter where you look. Yes, some of them have been for hundreds of years... should be even more motivation to finally get some shit done, to actually do something.

I need to finish reading it - the parts that I read were the absolute best:D

Split Tooth by Tanya Tagaq(@tagaq on Twitter), a fictional book about the struggles of living in the North (Tagaq lives in Nunavut, Canada, I believe, and I really want to read her book so badly!)
Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse (@RoanhorseBex), is a dystopian book that looks at a fictional future after the apocalypse in Dinetah (She lives in New Mexico, which is also the land that the story takes place)
Guns of Penance by Mari Kurisato(Polychromantium @ Twitter): In this fast-paced erotic techno fantasy that’s one part Mad Max, one part Kill Bill, with a dash of Delta of Venus, five strangers will face hell, lust. and their shared destiny, one that will change the world forever.
(Remember, Native Americans/First Nation people are not restricted to only write about their background)
And you might also want to read Ant Hills: Stories of Girls in a Group Home by Sarah Perrote (you can find her on Twitter @wapshkankwet). I plan to read it myself, and really look forward to it.
These authors come from both the US and Canada.
Happy reading!

Indigenous Writes is really good, Lakota Woman written by Mary Crow Dog as well. (They're both #ownvoices so there you go)

YES! Awesome book!
Other recommendations:
Golden Boy by Abigail Tarttelin, Contesting Intersex - The Dubious Diagnosis by Georgiann Davis - have read Golden Boy which is really dark, and definitely only suitable for more mature audiences (I'd say 16 up) and then I haven't read Georgiann's book yet but it's an #ownvoices book so I know it's great!

English subtitles are available in the options
P.S.: The recent decision to redefine "sex" in the US affects and harms us intersex people too!

And then, I think we need to have a discussion about what rape is - there may be more issues that deserve to be called rape than you would at first think of (or deserve to be called sexual harassment/assault)
Other than that - we also have to talk about the consequences - if the consequences are dire enough on the perpetrator, be they any gender, then in my opinion, the issue would change as well...
