4. Are you interested in being a team leader for your group? (i.e. keeping track of team totals, needed tasks, updating spreadsheet, etc. -- We aim to have two captains per team so you can share the responsibility.) Not this time

Reading The Demon of Unrest: A Saga of Hubris, Heartbreak, and Heroism at the Dawn of the Civil War has slowed me down. I enjoyed it. I feel like I'm getting close to finishing the challenge.

I really liked The Frozen River. My book club is reading it for the month of September.

- Brief reason why it was the best - It was set in 1789 Maine. It was a mystery. I liked the story & got attached to the family.

These books fell into my lap. I wanted to read both of them then I finally realized the covers were similar. The Frozen River was really good. My favorite book of 2024 so far.

I've gotten a lead which is good because I was behind.

1. Are you on track with ATY? What are the challenges or hurdles you are facing? Yes. I'm reading in order I've read through prompt # 37. I got a slow start this year & only caught up by having an audible book & regular book going at once. I'm waiting on a library book for prompt #38.
2. What are your goals for the second half of the year? I do three reading challenges. I want to finish at least one by August.
3. Are you participating in the voting for the 2025 list? What are you most excited about? I'm participating in the voting process. I'm excited about starting my lists for 2025.
4. What's been your best book(s) of the year so far? What are you hoping to read in the second half of the year? My best book is The Gift of Rain. I hope to read more books that I own.

One of the best books I read in 2023 was Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change Our Minds & Shape Our Futures . 5 stars. It's nonfiction. I gave it as Christmas gifts. If you read it buckle up because fungus can get scary sometimes.
