168927 Ready when you are. Monday, maybe?

168927 I was thinking of giving it a reread. This might just be the right push.

Wow, okay, that is some seriously high praise. I'll get on to it soon as I can.

How does it compare with the original trilogy?

Interestingly enough, I actually did enjoy the roast :p Not so much because of the cussing, but the irreverence. Also the self-awareness.

All this negativity interests me, because the book seems to have highly positive reviews. Could you go through some of them and try to figure out exactly where the difference of opinion arises?

I know, right? All the metaphors!

You just need to add Ra's al Ghul in there somehow and life will be perfect.
168927 Also, there were a lot of Dean Koontz books there, but not the one I was looking for, Demon Seed. If anyone sees it, could you buy a copy for me? I'll take it in the next meet. Thanks a bunch!
168927 Been there once, couldn't explore much. HarperCollins is great, Penguin is pretty good, Oxford is boring and Hachette is aesthetically the best one I found. Then there were the tiny blink-and-you-miss-it second-hand stalls, where a friend of mine discovered The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (on my recommendation, of course). I'm hoping for some tips and tricks myself, for future visits.

I ended up buying only four books, but they're four of the books near the very top of my want-to-read list. The Help by Kathryn Stockett, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, House of Cards by Michael Dobbs and the one I'm most excited about, Foundation by Isaac Asimov (you see, I'm a big SF fan in movies, so I've always wanted to explore it in books).

168927 Just had my first go with the World Book Fair. Bought House of Cards (Francis Urquhart, #1) by Michael Dobbs , Foundation (Foundation, #1) by Isaac Asimov , The Help by Kathryn Stockett and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee . WOOHOO!

Maus! By far the best Nazi Germany/WWII book I've ever read. (Unfortunately, also the worst. I haven't read all that many of them.)

168927 Ah, I see. I read The Metamorphosis and couldn't really get into it. I think I'll give The Trial a try, though.

If you didn't really like the ones you tried, then I guess try an author you haven't read. One style might just suit you.

You're evil. There's a special place in Hell reserved for book eaters, child molesters and people who talk during movies.

Hello, I am Utkarsh. I read way too many books in parallel. Also, I'm about as mainstream as it gets. And I'm a bit like Abed from Community in the sense that I see the world as a collection of movie/tv/book references.
