168927 Okay. I'll try not to gush. By far one of the greatest works of fiction ever created. First thing that comes to mind, because I've been thinking about this, are the covers. I simply can't get over the fact that every cover is a page of the comic. They're part of the story, that blew my mind!

A simple, charming, heartbreaking story.

Also, the entire 'Sweet Tooth' series of graphic novels. Excellent storytelling, complemented..."

Hey, that's the one from the Secret Santa! Nice, I want to read it sometime.

Also, Jeff Lemire also wrote a series of graphic novels on Green Arrow, starting with Green Arrow, Vol. 4 The Kill Machine by Jeff Lemire . If you like Arrow, you'll love this.

168927 In the climax, yes. But before that, it turns your brain into scrambled egg.

Larsson unfortunately died before his books were published, so he was never at the receiving end of the praise and the love.

168927 Has anyone read The Girl in the Spider's Web yet? I was meaning to ask, what do people think about it?

168927 This was the year where I expanded my reading a bit, trying to explore, so some of my all-time favorites as well as some of my most hated books ever can be found in my this year's read list. The book that left the greatest impression on me would be 1984 by George Orwell . I love the setting, love the characters, and most of all, love the ideas.

168927 I just finished The Sandman, Vol. 1 Preludes and Nocturnes (The Sandman, #1) by Neil Gaiman . Blown away. Currently reading The Martian by Andy Weir . I love sarcastic, wisecracking protagonists. I love science fiction. This is gold.

I also read the Millennium Trilogy this year and am about to start The Girl in the Spider's Web by David Lagercrantz . It's a different author, for tragic reasons, and I'm keeping my expectations low. The thing I love most about this series is its almost aggressive insistence on liberalism. Which was your favorite one in the series? Mine was The Girl Who Played with Fire (Millennium, #2) by Stieg Larsson .
168927 If you enjoy mainstream comics, you might be interested in Wolverine: Old Man Logan by Mark Millar. It is sort of a post-apocalyptic version of the Marvel Universe. The world looks great, but it doesn't have much of that nostalgia you talk about.
