I still have yet to complete the Hitchhiker's Guide 'trilogy'.
@Nidhi, yeah makes sense. It would lend some context to what you just read. @Nikita, I will be reading it, but still haven't moved past page 4 or so.
I started as well. But not far enough in it to say anything. As a side note, I really enjoyed Neil Gaiman's introduction.
godavar wrote: "Can I use "frabjous"? :D if the stories weren't so distracting I'd have tried to get at some of the mathematics ;)"Of course you can use frabjous. In fact, it is encouraged. The chess game in Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There is also a lot of fun to imagine.
Incidentally if you have some lengthier thoughts that you'd like to post, there is an Alice thread in the discussion board.

I have read and liked this edition of Myth of Sisyphus
. It has some other essays by Camus as well. They are worth a read.As for letter from a stoic, the standard one I have seen is:
but I haven't read it.
Mallika wrote: "Hi, I am currently reading How To Be A Woman along with Our Shared Shelf. womdering if anybody at BYOB is doing the same and wants to join me. :)"I think Nidhi is reading that as part of OSS.
Yep, I think we had better timing this time round. And discussing as you along is definitely part of the fun.
Alright, I am closing this thread to future comments. Until we read again!
Jaya wrote: "Sorry for mentioning this here though, let me know if any of you or anyone you know who is/are interested in buddy reading a few of the fantasy series/ sagas."Sure. Btw, you can post it in the 'set up your buddy reads here' thread. Also, I would recommend posting it in the Facebook group.
So, we're all done here. Nikita and I have reached the end. We finished the rest of our discussion on WhatsApp but largely the conclusion seems to be that we both enjoyed the book for our own reasons, some in common and others more disparate. Overall, it was a book that got me thinking about things and left me with some new questions and some fresh insight, which is the sort of thing I look for.
And cheers to you. Glad you joined us this far. Nikita and I wil be seeing this through to the end. Drop a line in case there are other books you'd like to do a buddy read on.
Feel free to abandon it, jaya! Why spend time with something you don't like? There are too many books in the proverbial sea.
@Nikita, There are whole worlds within people. You can spend years in interaction with someone and still uncover a only fraction of that person.
@jaya, yeah at the end, we will be able to discuss this properly. So far, I don't think she does love him though. She might see him as an esacpe route of sorts.
Nikita wrote: "Because when she meets him in the motel she realises what he is all about but she wants to get over her obsession / love for him . She says something like that.."Uh, I'm not there yet.
@Nikita, She knowingly and willingly committed the sin. Why she wants people to think that she is waiting for him, I am not sure. Maybe because she does at some level want to be seen as 'Tragedy'.
