MEET SUPER GIRLS' FIRECRACKER, KANG SERA. Originally known primarily for her visuals, Sera quickly showed the world that she was more than just a pretty face as she flaunted her wit and humor on variety shows. Since then, she's held many fixed positions on different variety programs, well-liked for both her commentary and her hosting skills. After she filled in as a temporary MC for Friday Idol, Sera garnered support from other groups' fandoms for having a kind and easygoing personality around her juniors and her ability to raise the mood.
But, of course, with more popularity comes more hate, and Sera has more than her fair share of both. Sera could sit nice and pretty like a doll, never opening her mouth except to smile — but that's not who she is, nor is it who she wants to be. She refuses to water her personality down for anyone, change herself just because it's what some old man says she should do, because that's what makes her Super Girls' irreplaceable Kang Sera, bold and beautiful and bright as the fucking sun.
Born in San Diego, California, to Taiwanese parents, Winnie Huang has never had a place to call home. Her parents' line of work meant moving from the United States to Shanghai to Taiwan to Hong Kong to Korea and finally back to Taiwan, and sometime around Seoul Winnie decided that she didn't want to live like that anymore. Her solution came in the form of a JY Entertainment scouting agent who street casted her one day after school when she was at a department store with her friends, and that was that. She passed her audition, she began her life as a trainee, and when her parents told her that they were being relocated to Taipei, she begged them to let her stay in Korea, where she had finally found a home, a place, a purpose.
(I'll become successful here, she had told them, so successful that I can buy you a house and you won't have to keep moving around because you won't even have to work anymore.) And maybe they believed her, or maybe she was just excessively persistent, because she's still here now. And okay, maybe she said that mostly to try to convince them to let her stay in Seoul, but she also meant it. When she heard about MIXSEVEN, she begged the company to let her go on. This is a chance, a big chance, and she's not about to let it go.

Here's the deal: Sunny is popular. She always has been, since Sweet Tart's debut in 2014. Not popular enough to carry a whole team on her back, but more than enough to book some CFs and variety appearances. So honestly? Since the addition of [Member], not all that much has changed for Sunyoung, except that, if anything, she doesn't have as much pressure on her as she used to. It's not that she's lazy and doesn't want to work as hard — it's just that she's never been someone who does well with the responsibility of being, well, responsible for other people. She can do her part, she'll work hard to do it well, but she can't control other people. She doesn't want to. Rather than supporting the group with her performance — and really, Sunyoung has always known she isn't the strongest on the team — she would rather support them by being, well, good at being herself. And, granted, that mostly involves being pretty and charming.
That is something that she can handle.
And now that Sweet Tart is on a steady rise to a stable career, and no one's looking at Sunyoung like she's the one who needs to be doing more, she feels like she can breathe again. She trained, and it was hard. She debuted, and it was also hard. And it's still not easy, but it feels like her labor is finally starting to pay off, and that's a pretty damn good feeling.

WHEN HE WAS STILL A MEMBER OF TERRA, Kenji felt like an exotic show pony. Look! MH Entertainment found a Japanese man handsome enough to still be handsome in Korea! He can sing! He can dance! He can do everything! He can bear the weight of hundreds of years of bitterness and bad history on his shoulders! And at first, he didn't mind it. He left the comfort of his home and went to Korea for a reason: because he dreamed of becoming a global superstar, and Japan's market couldn't take him there. Like everyone else who went through the training system, he was willing to make sacrifices — and for one of the first Japanese to debut in Korea, his dignity was often one of them. Kenji has a thick skin. He can laugh off the offensive remarks, become the person that he needed to in order to be loved in Korea. And for the first years of TERRA's career, he was indeed one of the most popular members for his genius dancing ability and complete fluency in Korean, alongside handsome visuals and an easygoing personality. He learned how to get by. He had to be a certain kind of person in order to survive, so he adapted.
The injury might have been his fault. Or maybe it could be blamed on the company that forced him to practice for so long, to practice until he couldn't move any more. Maybe it was his fault for not being careful and re-injuring his leg, or maybe it was the company that wouldn't let him take a break to heal. And then the doctor told him that if he injured his leg again, he wouldn't be able to dance anymore, and something inside Kenji shifted. He could give up a lot of things to be here — his dignity, his pride in his people, his home, his health. He did give them up. But he couldn't give up the one thing that he had held to, steadfast, the only thing that, in the end, made him valuable. Really, there was no way for him to continue a Korean career. To stay with TERRA would be a death wish for his career, and what happens to a little boy from Osaka, left in Seoul with no more talent to show? It wasn't a matter of choice. It was either to lose himself completely or to save what little of Nitta Kenji was really left, and eventually, you need to start doing things for yourself.

On October 30, for her 27th birthday, ANGEL5 member and actress Park Seungyeon has donated ₩100,000,000 to various charities!
In a recent interview, the star opened up about her yearly tradition of donating to different organizations for her birthday and holidays. "I don't to it to brag or to make myself look good," she said. "Rather, I hope that it will encourage people to also give what they can to help others. What's important is not what you have, but what you give. To me, a giving heart and a sense of responsibility to help others always are the most important traits a person can have."
