Hwang Wooyoung (황우영), also known as Buggeukhae Wooyoung, Arctic
Ocean Wooyoung, or Arctic Wooyoung, was born on July 21, 1986, in
Seoul, South Korea. Hwang is best known as the main vocalist of South
Korean idol group JMSG and as a vocal trainer on season two of Knet's
Produce 411. Hwang was honorably discharged from the South Korean
Marine Corps on February 3, 2017.

KNOWN SINCE DEBUT AS JMSG'S ICE PRINCE, Hwang Wooyoung is a cool and chic city man to some, and a short-tempered brat to others. In a manner which may seem contratictory to the cool intellectual image that Wooyoung has maintained over the past fifteen years, Wooyoung is also known for his intense passion: his frequent annoyance, his burning stage presence, his perfectionistic tendencies, and, above all other things, his commitment to his group. He swore, at the group's last fanmeet as seven before the lawsuit went public, that he would protect JMSG's name unconditionally for the rest of his life, and in the ensuing eleven years, he has stayed true to his word, even when it has gotten him into trouble.
There is nothing that Wooyoung ever leaves half-finished, because as he often says, If you're not going to do it properly, don't do it at all. Whether it's finishing a three-day concert with a fever or enlisting as a marine early to minimize the group's hiatus time, Wooyoung takes his responsibility and commitments seriously, because, to be honest, he takes everything seriously. He may not be a funny variety personality, or the warm and nurturing type, but if it is something that Wooyoung can do, then he can be expected to do it to the very best of his ability.

𝐓ruthfully, Summer isn't doing badly for herself. Summer Lee, a girl far, far from home, is doing okay. Sure, she isn't on the same level of worshipped-by-juniors-who-all-want-to-be-you success as most of her labelmates — the level of success that she maybe would be on, if things had gone differently — but she still gets some endorsements, she makes her variety appearances and takes an acting role here and there. And she tries to keep a level head, tries to be grateful for it all, except this isn't what she wanted to be doing. She wanted to be on stage, performing with her group, except she doesn't even have much of a group anymore, when it's Venus and the girls, and Venus and the girls don't even actually do anything together anymore, even at FUTOWN the Live, and the girls don't even always introduce themselves as a member of FBNC anymore, because their measly scraps of individual fame still hold more relevancy than the group name does. No matter how Summer looks at it, she's pretty sure that this is how FBNC — the girls with the golden ratio of talent and visuals! — ends.
And she can't help but think that things could have been different. It was back in 2013, when they were at the peak of their career, and Summer was a rising star — people loved the girl with a smile like sunshine and a boy group cover dance that could make North Pacific Namseon cry. But then the accident happened, and it should've been fine — just a little recovery time, no big deal, but then the recovery time turned out to be longer than expected, and by the time Summer was standing onstage again, FBNC's short time near the top was already coming to an end. If she hadn't gotten in the accident, if she'd recovered more quickly, maybe they could've stayed there longer. Maybe they could still be there, and not replaced by another girl group.

Kwon Youngseok sits across the table from me, his white chocolate latte still steaming in front of him. You only live once, he had said to me, a twinkle in his eye, when we sat down, so you might as well enjoy your coffee. If I didn't know better, I would never have pegged Along With the Gods' grim reaper to have such a sweet tooth — but then again, if he were someone I ran into on the street, I never would have taken Kwon Youngseok for a celebrity at all.
At that, he laughs. "Am I a celebrity?" he asks. "I don't feel like one. I'm just a guy who loves acting." And that he is: a guy who loves acting who made his theater debut in 2009, his small screen debut in 2011, and had his film debut in what is now only the fifth-highest grossing Korean film. With a career that has grown exponentially in less than a decade, Kwon Youngseok is far from the monster rookie he was nine years ago, and he has not taken any of it for granted.

Meet the 24-year-old whose music hasH Y U N . K :
taken the Korean hip-hop and R&B scene
by storm as she talks about her journey to the top, what inspires her to write her music, and her "Three H's" which have given her the strength to break past all of the barriers set before her.
Less than two years ago, Son Hyunkyung — better known by her stage name HYUN.K — was just an average student studying business administration at Howon University. Though Son had long been interested in music, she says that she "never dreamed it would be anything more than a passion project." Life, she says, works in mysterious ways, and Son calls the ensuing sequence of events her "miracle."
"I had a friend studying applied music," she says. "There was a guest that day, an alumni, who was coming as a guest lecturer, and my friend was supposed to play this song that he had written. But the girl who was going to sing came down with laryngitis, so my friend asked me if I would fill in for her, since I had helped him with the lyrics earlier."
Son never could have dreamed that her impromptu university performance would land her the honor of becoming the first signed recording artist at singer and producer Shim Wooseong's newly-established Daybreak Label under BS M&M. "It's an incredible privilege," Son says. "I wasn't anybody — just a business student who happened to sing in the right place at the right time. Really, I just got lucky."
When I mention that her perfect all-kill with Jenga in the first half of the year doesn't seem like pure luck, Son laughs, shaking her head shyly. "Okay, maybe it's not all luck," she admits, "but I'm still very thankful.
Though she's become well known for
her charms inside and out of her music, Son admits that being around people and sharing her work wasn't always easy. "I was really shy when I was in school," she says. "I've been writing music since I was young, since I was in middle school — but back then, I wouldn't let anyone hear or even see what I'd written. Most people didn't even know I wrote music."
This was something that Son continued to struggle with even after her talent was discovered. "The director and I had many meetings about it," she says. "About whether I should proceed as a producer or a recording artist. I was so afraid of putting myself out there, and then everyone hating me."
With some help, Son developed what she calls her "Three H's": Hello, heart, and HYUN.K. Hello, she says, because you can't get anywhere without an introduction. Everyone else started somewhere, too. Heart, because her heart is in her music, and she has to remember that this is what she loves to do, and her passion is stronger than her fears. And last but certainly not least, her stage name, HYUN.K — her "superhero name", as she calls it, because sometimes you need to feel like a hero to have the strength to face the world.[ 현케이 ]

IF THERE WERE AN AWARD FOR PASSION, Ichinose Junpei would be the unanimous winner of Montgomery International Academy's Department of Athletics. Known better as Itchy-nose to game announcers and Jun to his peers, the Montgomery baseball team's fearless leader has never been known to give anything less than 110%. Though at times it may seem that Jun thinks that he is leading an army into war rather than a band of high schoolers into a game, and he seems to fluctuate between burning intensity and golden retriever-like enthusiasm, make no mistake: Ichinose Junpei is the one calling the shots in this game.
Contrary to what many may believe about him, no, Jun Ichinose is not an idiot. Students of Montgomery International Academy's other departments would, of course, argue this, but as Jun knows well, they're not exactly experts on how baseball works. Would it be more useful if Jun put his memorization skills to his school work rather than keeping a near-perfect mental encyclopedia of the lineup of every team he's played? Sure, for most people. But most people don't exactly have a professional baseball career in not one but two countries lined up for themselves after graduation, and Jun isn't most people. What use is knowledge if it isn't applied? What is talent worth if it isn't honed? What is pride if it isn't earned?
And unlike many of his classmates, Jun knows that he's a self-made man. Is he at this school because of his parents' money? Of course. But his father, chief justice of the High Courts of Japan, is not the one who spends the whole entire practicing, practicing, and practicing some more. That's all Jun. Jun is the one on the field, in the batting cage, the one leading his team and naming the plays. Jun doesn't try to hide behind soft smiles and booming laughter; that's always been a part of him, right next to his calculating gaze and shrewd sense of strategy. But if people choose to not see him for all of who he is — well, that's not his problem.

GO SEUNGHYUN / mh, eighteen points, vocalist, grade s.
Tore away his seemingly average hoodie to reveal a sequined ensemble for a performance of Super Girls' "Twinkle" in the original key, much to the shock (and, to some, dismay) of everyone who witnessed it. The judges noted that maybe he should have lowered the key because of the strain he had at the higher parts, but he was otherwise stable, and they were willing to overlook those parts to give him grade S because he had the "energy of someone made for the stage."

Say hello to MH Entertainment's new king of aegyo! And of singing! And like everything else too! You may think that Go Seunghyun is too good at everything, and you would be correct. MH has managed to get their hands on one of those lucky bastards who just so happens to be ridiculously naturally talented, and his name is Go "Cutiepie" Seunghyun. Basically everything Seunghyun has ever tried his hand at, he's been good at (except for, like, math, and also dieting) and well — life's been pretty darn good for him so far.
Except that it hasn't, really, because his family is poor as fuck, and while his older brother and sister are working their asses off ever since his dad walked out and his mom had to try to support herself and four kids alone. Leave it to us, Seunghyunnie, his hyung told him, Don't worry about this and enjoy being young, his noona told him, and, well, his baby sister can't tell him anything, because she's, well, a literal baby. His siblings didn't want him to give up his dreams to support the family, so he decided to find new dreams that would support them. He's good at singing. He's naturally athletic and a quick learner. He's got that natural aegyo and fun personality that all the noonas and ahjummas in his town just can't get enough of. He knows that. And he also knows that famous people make money, and he also knows that there's no faster way to fame than to debut under the biggest entertainment company in South Korea. (Or, at least, he's pretty sure.) And he got in on his first audition, so how hard could it be?
The problem is that Seunghyun has never had to push himself like this. No one else has ever pushed him this hard, either. Sure, he has all the raw talent, all the ambition needed, all the right intentions. But he doesn't know how to practice smart. He doesn't know how to manage himself for the long run. He's just a kid, and, well, he's kind of gotten ahead of himself, this time.

Some people say that every time JY debuts a group, one of the members is his princess. Heejin for 1CHANCE, Choa for Pink Punk, and — for whatever the next group is — Do Sujin. Ever since she entered the company a year and a half ago, she's been the favorite. Maybe it's because of her chic visual, or because of her parents' money, but either way, it's given her what seems to be a promising future.
Of course, there's the tiny issue that she isn't... actually good at anything it takes to be an idol.
You can't blame the girl for getting a bit of a complex though; when you're treated like the best, you're bound to think that you are the best. Do Sujin is just another person. She just is another person with a lot more money and connections than you.

22 + 3 4 4 4 3 + (view spoiler)
Yamato Hajime is a human disaster. Look, when he decided to come here — after he saw KASTOR's "Catch Me -If you wanna-" performance life for the first time in 2012 after his onee-sama dragged him along to their concert and thought, holy shit, I want to also be a super cool guy singing about my woes while dancing in a sequined backless spandex bodysuit while also being super cool — and then after he failed his MH Entertainment audition, he never imagined it would be this hard.
Even after he became fully fluent in Korean, even after he learned how to dance — thank you, borderline inhumane summer baseball endurance training — and to sing and rap, KHC just thought that apparently, he's not good enough for anything. They were like, hey, we're gonna debut a rock band who is also going to promote in Japan, and Hajime was like, guess what, I'm a Japanese guy who loves rock music and can play five different instruments, and then they were like, lol but not you. So yeah, Hajime is here with something to prove, to KHC Entertainment, to MH Entertainment, to Korea, to himself.
