16548 I think Trull getting killed basically killed the series for me. So unfair:(

16548 I just read it in December because I wanted to read it before seeing the movie. I think after seeing the movie that was a good idea; there were a few things I probably would have missed if I hadn't read the book first. Although of course there was a lot of stuff from the book that was just cut out of the movie.

16548 I read a really good out of genre contemporary YA book, None of the Above by I.W. Gregorio. I'm now just starting The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. After that, I'm planning to read Last Song Before Night by Ilana C. Myer.

16548 I like that you got a picture of your kids in front of the TARDIS Pickle; that was a lucky shot:)

16548 Wow! That went fast actually:) I'm one of the ones on a bit of a break at the moment, but you've done an awesome job Kathi!

16548 Of course...I should have remembered that! Fly by Night is really good. But as Bill says, all her books are lovely.

16548 Ha ha Bill, we are on the same wavelength:)

16548 It's still pretty new Christine...do they have Cuckoo Song? That was released in 2014 and was the most recent before The Lie Tree.

Lol, yes I've been fairly obvious about my love for her, haven't I?

No I hadn't seen that article or heard the news about the Costa, so thank you for that! I haven't yet read The Lie Tree; I am planning on doing a buddy read of it with my buddy read group in May. I would have done it sooner but one of the group is completing her thesis and so we all decided to wait and read it together after she is done.

I'm really looking forward to it!:)

If you still haven't got to it by then, you're welcome to join us if you like?

16548 I just finished The Scorpio Races; it is my first favourite book of 2016. So amazing:)

Chris, you are in luck! City of Blades is set for release on January 26!
16548 This was actually my first read of 2015! I won't be rereading but I am really interested in following the discussion. I really liked the book and would definitely encourage anyone sitting on the fence to go ahead and give this one a go.

16548 I didn't manage to finish Luna: New Moon in December, so it's become my first read of 2016 by default:)

Wolf_Maiden, Among Others is awesome! I hope you enjoy it. Keep a notebook handy to keep track of all the reading suggestions you get from it. It's essentially a love letter to science fiction and books in general.
16548 I found this kind of a hard book to get through. I thought it was good, but I didn't like the outcome. I can't see things getting any happier in a sequel. I think I would like it better if I didn't feel Cormorant was deluding herself. I don't think she is being totally honest with her own motives anymore. I do think she enjoys power and part of what she is doing is self serving. It isn't completely about her people.

16548 I finished The Martian (which was good, obviously) and also read Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine which I would definitely recommend! I've now started reading Luna: New Moon by Ian McDonald, which is very promising so far.
