(view spoiler)[I am so angry that they gave them that potion and the boys can't even remember who they or each other is.

That one scene where the cult member gouged his eyes out reminded me of the scene in The Odyssey when they gouged out the eye of Polyphemus and his eyeball hissed and boiled. So graphic! (hide spoiler)]

Edward (view spoiler)[I am glad he's been found but I wonder how long it will last! Poor kid trying to talk but at least he was able to get his name out to where someone understood. Hoping John will be all right. (hide spoiler)]

John (view spoiler)[is all alone and witnessed them nailing Derek and Aleksandra to the wall and dismembered, but he was only "fascinated." Ugh... I hope that's part of his drug! His magic appears to have saved him! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I can't believe what they did to Cathy and Jimmy. The demon aspect freaks me out! Cathy's foot...ugh! Gross and how painful would that have been! The disembowelments. Absolutely unthinkable!!! The detail is unbelievably detailed. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I am really conflicted about the ending! First, I feel like Luca should've forgiven Naomi. At this point Luca is herself being a hypocrite. Namoi lied to Luca and now Luca is lying to everyone! I would think that she'd want to try her hardest to let everyone know what really happened to Whitney, whether they believed her or not. I don't have satisfaction because Whitney got away with murder, even if it was more like man slaughter. I am glad that Luca decided to leave the island but I still feel like she left without even trying to truly get justice for her sister. (hide spoiler)]

What?! (view spoiler)[It seems like secrets abound everywhere in books and RL! lol Whitney was pregnant? And Namoi lied about Anya? Now I don't know what to think. Carter makes sense being the killer but for some reason that seems too obvious so I don't know. (hide spoiler)]

Through Ch. 26

(view spoiler)[What a disappointment to discover someone you are so close to has lied to you and you never knew them as well as you thought you did.

Carter is characterized in the story as a "dick" (forgot who said it) and then we find out he's cheated on Beth. Yep, a dick!

I'm not into (or NOT into) Luca's and Naomi's romantic relationship just yet. I'll see where it goes but I am glad they have each other. Something is OFF with Naomi but I can't put my finger on it. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Wow! I can't even imagine living in a place that you truly believe is cursed and then for your sister to come up dead. I wonder if Whitney really had a drug problem or if she was set up somehow. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I love this one and thought it was so well done! It was full of suspense and things I wasn't expecting. I am so glad that Daisy and Luciana are all right! When they said it was "tree man" I was like, "No, not a weird killer!" lol So I am glad that it ended up being a real person! lol Nemeth makes perfect sense to me too after reading the connection with Marge and her sister, etc. Love this one! And OMG! This is getting super interesting!

I had to stop here and comment! (view spoiler)[I can't believe that Martin was killed and it looks like we have a serial killer lurking in Devil's Canyon! I just can't decide who I think it might be but I don't want it to be some random killer who's not been a character in the book. I hope that Daisy is okay and the others who've gone MIA. I kept thinking about Nemeth. He knows the national forest better than anyone, I would think and he is always so rude to Frankie, but I can't figure out a reason for it to be him. hmmm (hide spoiler)]

Through Ch. 20

(view spoiler)[I definitely started to suspect Scott after reading that he married Tim's fiancée. After Neil was attacked I suspected him even more until Neil admitted that they all lied about that night and now it seems like they're all suspect so I don't know what to think. But too much has happened (like the food) for it not to be one of them. But I'm not a very good detective. At least I knew something was off about that night so I got that part right. lol I don't think Tim is still alive. I can't believe that his dad (Martin) guilts them to go looking for Tim's remains every year. (hide spoiler)]

YAY! CHAPTERS! Through Ch. 10

Frankie (view spoiler)[has a passion for what she does. I was totally commiserating with her when hiking up to Devil's Canyon! Reminded me of hiking with my daughter and her girlfriend when we go on vacations to national forests! They could hop, skip, jump and sing while I stagger along trying to keep up and catch my breath. I find places to rest though! (hide spoiler)]

Scott (view spoiler)[I don't know why he'd have "forgotten" everything that happened to him. And Tim was so experienced it seems unusual that he'd go missing, but I know it does happen to hikers at times where natural disasters happen. His dad is something else! I do suspect foul play for Tim. (hide spoiler)]

Daisy is the one (view spoiler)[character I love so far! lol Dog-lover here! Those screams at the end of Ch. 9 (I think) were chilling! (hide spoiler)]

Devil's Canyon (view spoiler)[is the type of name that always makes a place sound eerie, scary, ominous! I am afraid to know what happens (or happened) there! (hide spoiler)]

Question: (view spoiler)[The one question I have is, does Martin really think Bigfoot took his son? If so, I doubt there'll

I really liked this one a lot, but it didn't "excite" me if you will. I loved the (view spoiler)[camaraderie the girls built. I was happy that Grace and Hugh ended up together and I loved the irony of the wedding dress! Landon and Violet, and that Ben ended up in London. Happy ending! Also, I love how Grace especially grew and I think this quote sums up what I love about the message: "If there's one thing I've taught you, I hope it is to stand on your own feet, be brave and bold." Grace pg 204

(view spoiler)[ I love the relationship that Grace and Cressida are developing. Cressida seems so uplifting and like she’s such a positive vibe with everybody so I really like her character. I think I see a budding romance between Cressida and Ben. (hide spoiler)]

I know, it is so frustrating not to have the chapters! Since I am watching my grandchildren at my daughter’s house I am on my phone so I can’t read your spoilers yet but I will add a couple myself and read yours when I get home and comment.

Violet pg 101

(view spoiler)[Cressida - I felt bad that she lost so much that she is obviously a good addition to the community. She is pretty much celebrity status. I didn’t get the feeling that Grace really wanted to marry Lawrence. Violet seems so doubtful she’ll find a husband but men find women attractive in the worst of “fashion” and circumstances. I do feel bad that she was conscripted right as her aunt is coming. But I guess it was the way back then. (hide spoiler)]

I finally got my book a few days ago, so I'll start this one soon but not until Friday since I have a 2 day reading challenge tomorrow and the next day. Although, I might start it later today. I'm glad you like it so well, especially since you're such a horror fan!
