154447 I am pretty sure looking up "What would a well endowed horse say he was hung like in order to brag to his horse friends?" is going to put me on a completely different watch list than everyone else here.

Thank you. It has made other people smile. It has made me smile. It is already a great success. :)

154447 Free book are free. That is one reason you giveaway more than sell usually. :) Probably the biggest reason out there, but there are more.

Countdowns only work in US/UK, and free works in all markets! I personally can't get countdown deals, but I can get freebies.

Another reason, you need a way to buy things on Amazon to buy them. credit card, gift card, something. They don't take PayPal either, which is how a lot of people buy online.

Also, this pertains to the fact that you were in the promo itself. I personally downloaded every free book that was offered to help everyone's stats. (unless I had it, or it wasn't free in Canada) I think a few people in the promo did. :) that added to the freebies.

I am waiting for the day I'm stuck on a deserted island, that has power, so I can read many many things!

154447 My first e-book ended up being a hot mess. It was impossible to read on smaller screens.

I revised it once I found out, and slept well at night because I also thought that an update would update it in people's e-readers. I should have researched that better.

As I know now, it didn't. Not many copies were out there of the bad version, but for far too long the first few people that took a chance on me had a next to impossible to read book on their devices.

However, when I did learn this I asked them to Push it and they did so with gusto. The full on email treatment and everything.

Recently I put up a book and made 1 very tiny mistake. With someone's name. Someone that was one of the 4 people that bought it on release day. Oops! Don't publish at 2am. I asked Amazon to push it so that the person could get the update. They did not push it, but they did make it available to update. They didn't need to do this, as it was literally one word, but they did. So that was nice! (I did ask really nicely though, so that didn't hurt!)

154447 For text it does not matter where you make the text, it will be the same quality because words are either going to stay as words due to how fonts work, or become vector graphics. Either can scale as large as needed and not lose resolution. So, providing you don't bring your text into Photoshop and flatten it all to make a 3 Gig book file, you will be fine.

Now, here is the fact that hasn't been mentioned yet that is interesting when it comes to pictures in Word:
Word is quite capable of pictures, however, on default it is (probably) going to be set with Picture Compression on. Picture Compression in Word can be a nightmare for picture quality. I have seen it take the lives of so many images cut short through Word's overzealous compression.

If you are going to use Word and you have pictures in the document I strongly suggest turning that off.

Compression is probably what is happening when people look at the final product from Word an notice the quality is less than what comes from InDesign which doesn't do that by default.

You know what, it isn't probably. I am confident enough to know this is exactly what is happening.

Hello Ray.
Please don't need to include your book link in conversations as it is against the group rules. Anyone interested in your books can already click your name to learn more about you and research if they desire. :)

:D
Some mysteries are better left unsolved.
This is not one of them though!

My books are all set inside video games. Different games made in different parts of game history.

So, yes - The one that has that particular disclaimer does have pixel graphics (that were updated for the re-release) and the characters talk about pixels, mostly as a unit of measurement (not sure why anyone would need a unit of measurement in an erotica book though!).

:)
154447 :D pixelated monster banging is kinda my thing and it brings a smile to my face everytime I hear it caused milk to shoot out people's noses!

I will tell my friends and take their ribbing like a big girl. :)
Gonna see how well it does before I tell the parents lol."

I am sure your friends will be fine with it, they are your friends after all! :)

After you get that good ribbing you will likely have two things: Some new fans from people that want to see what all the fuss is about, and some good inspiration for that latest scene in your next book about all of that sexy ribbing! (What, oh? Not that kind of ribbing? Well, still, could be fun!)

Let me know how you Comey Outty Smutty Party! goes. Bring cupcakes! (That's what I decided the name of your party should be)

Also, thank you! I'm always happy to hear I made someone laugh, snort, or chortle!

Okay, let's do this! I am CB Archer, and I write erotica. And not just run of the mill stuff, my stuff is the crazy stuff!

How did I tell my friends? With words. They are all adults, they all thought it was hilarious that I did that and they mostly bought copies.

How did I tell people I am related to? Accidentally! Thanks to a facebook post I messed up they all now know that I write sexy elfrotica books.

Funny thing is, only two family members have ever asked for more info and one lead to a sale. I know I am a source of scandal and gossip now, but honestly - it's more talking about me than people did before they found out. So, that's something. (Hooray! Popular!)

However, a good idea - If they don't ask for more info, you don't need to tell them. :)
If you want to tell, tell! If you don't dont!
