Are you guys super excited to read this book? It's out May 5th!! I'm really excited!!

OKAY. 50% of us seem to have confused the two charaters.. and I think that that was the point of the chapter titles and everything messing with us.. Some of us guessed it and some of us were surprised by Kaden. I actually started figuring it out quite a few chapters ago because of our discussion actually.. On my own I may not have noticed. But since so many of you ALSO seemed confused.. I realized that that was probably going to be one of the really big plot twists. That I would be wrong, and Rafe would turn out to be the Prince instead of the assassin like I had originally thought. I wished I hadn't of figured it out so early. It's fun to be surprised.
So by now, we all know who the assassin and the Prince are.. but I keep seeing people switch up their descriptions. This is what I understand:
On page 76 - here are the first descriptions -
Fisherman on the left, strong shoulders, dark sun-kissed hair in need of a comb. nicks on his hands, a bit on the somber side. - later on page - hair was long and unkempt, falling to his shoulders.
Second description - Blond one on the right, a trader of some sort, pelts maybe. He swaggers a bit as he walks. Hands have never seen a fishing net nor plow, only a swift arrow. - later on same page - blond fellow was of nearly identical build, perhaps an inch shorter and bit wider in the shoulders, his hair only brushing his collar. Somber faced with a brooding quality.
On page 80 we hear their names - "Thank you for the ride, Miss...?" The trader paused waiting. "I answer to Lia," I said. "And you would be?" After some thought, finally answer, "Kaden." So Kaden is the "trader" AKA the blond with "stormy brown eyes"
Then she turns to the "fisherman" waiting for his introduction. and On page 81 he says his name is Rafe. So Rafe has the longer dark hair with the bright blue eyes.
Does that clear it up for anyone?

True. But the assassin WASN'T sent by her father.. right? He's from Venda? So maybe he could understand why a different kingdom would send one, but not her father? I don't think I'm making any sense.. It's late here.. lol
HONESTLY.. I feel like I've been really confused so far in this book. Not by everything of course.. Just like the stuff about "First Daughter" and "Remnant" and stuff.. which someone also mentioned up there ^^ like does Lia have powers or not?
I do feel a little confused about some of the characters and their intentions, which I'm honestly not loving. I like a little mystery, but 30 chapters into a book I feel like I should know a bit more.. Really wanted to finish this tonight, but it may be tomorrow. The point I'm at now isn't DRAGGING exactly.. I just wish the pace would pick up a little!

I think Kaden has blond hair and dark eyes, and he's the prince.. right? Then Rafe has dark longer hair with blue eyes? And he's the assassin?
Maybe it's because I was reading these chapters at like 2am.. but I kept getting confused because of the chapter titles and stuff. Also, one minute I thought that she said Rafe was the fisherman and Kaden the trader, then the next chapter I thought I had switched it up.
I like that the author is keeping Lia's chapters LONG, but the other two's short. It leaves more mystery! I really like Lia's character and I'm really excited to see what's going to happen! Knowing that one of the guys is maybe going to try and kill her is obviously putting a damper on the whole romance thing.. but it's definitely making it exciting, that's for sure!!

Totally agree! It took me a few chapters to get into.. but now I'm really enjoying it! Confused about a couple things.. but I'm sure I'll understand soon!
