you really do have a new best friend, eh Brian? :)i'm just a london girl although have lived in loads of places within it.
so, we've hit 17 people. oh shit, Martyn & Lorraine! i'll give him a nudge to come and shout 'yay'
so do we have a final headcount? how about those who are coming say yay and someone can tally up a total?I say yay.
hello my dorky palsi'm leaving for heathrow soon; off to albany, ny, to stay with my sister for a week, then to seattle on the 31st. i'll have online access so will be in touch as the big day draws nigh.
love to you all, hugs to follow soon x
copying Brian's format:• Arriving: Saturday, 31st July 2010, SEATAC 20:55
• Staying at: Holiday Inn Seatac 17338 INT'L. BLVD
• Hoping to hitch a ride to dorka location with my pal Patrick and possibly Dan the next day?
• Fly back to London from SEATAC, Friday 6th August, 18:45, so would love to hitch a ride with someone in order to get to the airport a couple of hours earlier.
Patrick? Yes, I still want a ride. Very much so. Would be eternally grateful. I have a cell phone.
See you all very soon x
p.s. Brian, you're a superhero.
i like patty's suggestions. musical acts? not so much, although a drunken karaoke session might go down a treat...i may do a lot of sitting down.
Dan wrote: "Lara, I get to SeaTac at 20:25 on the 31st of July! This is going to be a blast!"oh man, this is just too good to be true. it's like it's meant to be. jesus, i'm so excited about this!
Ben's place? In California? Or has he moved to Washington? Or is this a different Ben?Brian, this sounds so awesome I feel like a kid at 4am on Christmas Day. I really am more than excited. Quite possibly overexcited.
Patrick, moose-man, can't wait for a hug.
booked flights! i get to seatac at 20:55 on sat 31 july.
hope i can meet up with someone.
can't wait.
Dan wrote: "Did anyone see this place?http://www.vacationrentals.com/vacati...
apparently it sleeps 10, is not far from PT and has a cottage that could also be rented if we needed more spa..."
i kind of prefer the one that sleeps 30, the one that brian found. it would be a bit of a bummer having people drift off to different sleeping accommodation every night. quite fancy a nice communal thingy, but big enough for us to be nicely spread out. we're already on 13 definites and 4 maybes so going to one that sleeps 10 is not so hot. what do you reckon?
go for it, plutoid!i'm ok for a week. as long as there is at least someone else there with me!
as soon as you've booked, brian, i'll book my own tickets.
jesus, this is awesome. big birthdays, weddings, and the opportunity to hang out with a whole bunch of folk i love. so, it's the 1st - 7th August, yeah? i'll get cracking on booking flights.
so far 2010 fucking rocks.
i'm in. just let us know the dates as soon as you can and i'll sort out visiting my sis and Mo.martyn, we have to fly together this time if at all possible.
je, as soon as you've booked i can paypal you some dough or something?
august is the quietest month so my boss is ok with me going then. he's happy for me to take the end of july, beginning of august off.
no, beginning of august, sweetheart. it's the one month my boss is happy for me to disappear during monthend. as martyn's ok with any time in august, how about we start out looking at that first week and move on from there depending on the US contingent.
thanks for looking into dates and all, je. you're a star. only problem with july 7 and 8 is the fact that my wonderful job demands my presence the first week and a half of every month, so taking hols then is not viable for me :( the last week of july and first week of august would be better. but it's just me, and you have many people to cater for, so let's see what the response is.just for kicks, can you check back with fort flaggler and see what their availability is?
Man, just read this whole thread and am really looking forward to seeing you all. And playing drunk bingo. Of course.Kerry, thanks a million for arranging accommodation and transport to and from flagler. You're an angel and will get about 2.4 million hugs.
Which reminds me, Martyn The Hugger may not be there, but I'm pretty damn good at the whole hugging thing so people will definitely not go unhugged.
About the sleeping bag and pillow thing. Travelling from London with luggage for a two-week holiday in the US makes it a tad difficult to pack those two items. Does any one have a sleeping bag to spare? Or are they pretty cheap over there?
Sorry Hugh, Dan, Mo, Neil and Lauren, amongst others, won't be there. We shall take a billion photos for you guys.
