I'm going to put this into the book with a number in the title category. Let me know if you want it somewhere different!
Oooh - I found the jackpot!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category...
For some reason, this category appealed to me right away so I quickly sought out a book by an author with my initials. The name Anchee Min was immediately recognizable to me, but I had never read any of her work.I am about halfway through this book - the story of two girls living through the Chinese cultural revolution in the late 60's and early 70's. I'm about half finished - I'll report back soon!
Here's an extensive list of books with numbers (in varying forms) in the title:https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/2...

Katelyn wrote: "I'm not seeing a folder for a book originally published in another language. Am I just missing it?"I called that folder "Translated from other language" and it is near the bottom of the list. Goodreads only allows 32 characters for a folder name, so I had to get creative with a few of the categories.
Meagan wrote: "I read after the fact that the app is lame. This is for 500 page book. Sorry."No problem! I'll fix it.
This is a tricky one for a lot of people. Here's some websites with extensive lists of authors:http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk

Oddly enough, there is no list of male authors on Wikipedia!

Thanks Cheryl! I wanted to pull this out so people that want to use it can find it easily. I'm using the doc to keep track of books I might want to read in the various categories. As the year goes on, I'll be able to check for ideas.
If you're using the Goodreads app on your phone it's not possible to add your new discussion to a folder. I've tested it on an iPhone, and am guessing Androids have the same problem.Anyhow, if you're clear about what category you'd like your book in, I'll happily continue to move them as needed.
Cheers!
Cheryl wrote: "I made a google sheet spreadsheet to track my reading; I have a blank version for sharing; I'd be happy to host one where people could fill in their names and the book they've read for each category."Can you start a new thread to share the Google doc for those that want to use it? Thanks!
Marie wrote: "This book is not what I expected based on the title and the recommending friend... I found plenty of great advice within. Imagine my delight when I came to the chapter "Read a book, no a differe..."Glad you liked it!
Ape wrote: "I have an iPhone 5s. It has been giving me troubles lately but the app has remained the same. Not sure what I'm doing! I can try on my iPad for my next post to see if that helps."That's exactly what I have, and I just tested a post from my phone and it did the same thing. I think it may just be a deficiency of the app. I have to run to work right now, but I'll follow up on this later.
In the meantime, I moved your other post to the Memoir folder, and I will continue to move other posts as needed.
Cheers!
