Greetings everyone, and welcome to all of you that have arrived recently. Since we have so many new people, and the lists of books in each category are getting longer, I just wanted to remind you of a couple of things. This isn't a rule-heavy group, but there are a couple of housekeeping issues that will help minimize confusion.1. Orphans - quite a few books have been put into the "orphan" folder because it's unclear which category the poster intended. App users may still be having trouble posting books into a specific folder (I haven't checked recently). Anyhow, check to see if any of your books landed in the orphan folder so they can be put where you meant to put them.
2. Duplicates - check the folder for your category to see if your book has already been posted. If not, go ahead and start a new thread. If it is posted already, carry on the conversation!
3. Books with multiple categories - if you use a book for more than one category, go ahead and post it in both places (as long as it isn't already posted).
That's it! Thanks everyone for participating - I hope you're having fun!
If you're looking for a quick read and a story with a little bit of humor, this might work for you! I liked it all right, but wasn't that impressed.Oh, Fox Mulder - I thought you could do better!
Thomas wrote: "There's already a thread about it in the "book that became a movie" section."Thanks, but she might want to put this in a different category. Most books fit several categories, so I want to make sure they end up where the poster intends. :-)
Doc is the as true as possible account of Doc Holliday's life, up to the time he left Dodge City. It does touch on his death, but what led me to this book was finding out about Russell's new book coming out this year - Epitaph, which is based on the story of the O.K. Corral.I love stories of the west in the 1800's. What was wonderful about Doc is how Russell focused on the people, rather than the action. Yes, Dodge City was a wild place in those days - but the people that lived there were far more interesting than the glorified gunfights most people think of. Their motivations - money, survival, honor, dignity...
I highly recommend it if you enjoy reading about this time period in U.S. history, or enjoy a good character based story.
Shahenda wrote: "This book was perfect for the challenge. Small, cute and I totally couldn't put it down "Hi Shahenda! Which category would you like this book to be in? Let me know and I'll change it for you. Welcome to the group!

Connie wrote: "Sorry there were duplicates. For some reason it wasn't showing on my screen when I came back to it so I kept putting it back in."No problem! Technology can by funny sometimes. :-)
Another good YA book from Jason Reynolds. I like how he addresses real world issues without getting too dark and grim like some YA authors. The main topic here is dealing with the death of a parent, but the story is hopeful and ends on a positive note.

Connie wrote: I'M GOING TO COUNT THE BOOKS I'VE ALREADY READ IN 2015"Absolutely! I deleted the duplicate posts with your list... just come back and edit your list whenever you need to add a book. Welcome to the group! :-)

Popular: Vintage Wisdom for a Modern GeekI'd like to recommend this book for this category - the author is a young lady of 15 or so who writes about living an entire year by the guidelines of a 1950's etiquette book. Lots of fun!
Paula wrote: "I thought you had to read a separate book for each???"My philosophy of this challenge is that each person completes it in the way that works best for them. Personally, I'm hoping to read 52 different books (check back in December and we'll see if I'm doubling up, haha). Some people don't have as much time to read, and may want to double up some of the categories. I think if you try to put too many rules onto this, or tell others to follow specific rules, then it's not as fun.
Welcome to the group!

Well... I had hoped for a little more from this book. It had an interesting cover, and was a bit quirky. But ultimately it didn't really work for me. Oh well.
Shannon wrote: "Read the entire book in one night (actually finished at 3am). Literally could not put it down. I now know why this is such a well loved classic!"Hi Shannon! Welcome to the group. Would you like this book to go into the "read in a day" category? Let me know, and I'll put it wherever you like.
I got sucked into this series after seeing so many people rave about it... waited what seemed like forever for this latest installment! Got it today, read it today, and now I'll be waiting forever again. I guess I'll just have to reread the series while I wait!
Welcome everyone! It's so great to see people here from all over the world. I hope you enjoy your time participating in the challenge with the rest of us.
