I got you beat. I made a recipe, that has looked at me for years, for dinner last month. It's called Coronation Chicken. It was not good. I should have known seeing as it has corona in it. Somebody else had to point this out to me.

152458 I think Down Among the Sticks and Bones works better for dark academia.

152458 Legendborn has one at the end of the book for a reason.
152458 Way to be. I'll go add my books.

152458 Happy Thursday? I have struggled this week with knowing what day it is. Fortunately the weather and a good book (Legendborn) are helping boost me out of this foggy brain.

This made my day earlier in the week. An ad for match.com I found it really funny and clever.

Thanks Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift
Also to TSwift fans you probably already know she's releasing an album tonight but in case you don't. ;)

Finished Reading:

An Enchantment of Ravens ⭐⭐⭐
This is a perfect book to accomplish the artist prompt next year. All the times the main character focused on painting were what make this book enjoyable for me.

The Night Masquerade ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Okafor breaks your heart and spreads joy with this series. I'm so sad it's over. ;( I highly recommend this for prompts next year.

Three Parts Dead ⭐⭐⭐
So I loved This Is How You Lose the Time War and I though I'd give other works by the authors a try. This was a struggle for me to get into but that's because the world building is very thorough. It is a great murder mystery with strong characters and a good villain. This is good for the prompt about your job if you're a lawyer, in contract negotiations, or have a position within your church.

PS 2020 50/50
PS Summer 20/20
PS Fall 10/10
PS 2016 38/40

Currently Reading:

Soap and Water and Common Sense: The Definitive Guide to Viruses, Bacteria, Parasites, and Disease
Madame Bovary

QOTW:
I can't remember a time when it's occurred within books at the moment. I'm sure it has. It happens with movies all the time.
However this year I have inadvertently read a bunch of books that look at you. They have either one eye or both staring at you on the cover. It started when I read the whole Shatter Me series novellas included during lockdown in the spring. Somehow though I've read more since? It's creepy looking through my reading challenge.

I definitely can and will be thinking of you guys. I'm so glad to read further on in the posts that your mom got through surgery okay.
152458 Legendborn by Tracy Deonn Just started this book today and I'm hooked.
It's an Arthurian Legend ya retelling.
The main character is 16 enrolled in an early college program, making this a good fit for dark academia.
Also there's a lot about family lines so you could use this for the family tree prompt as well.

I just started this book as well. I'm really enjoying the Arthurian Legend retelling.

152458 okay grishaverse...
Anything by leigh bardugo always has a map
the grishaverse has been made into a series on netflix I'm not sure when it will be realeased.
In the gem, mineral, stone thread there is a debate as to whether bone counts as a mineral.
I think ruin and rising would count as mostly outdoors and in multiple countries (made up).
Crooked Kingdom would also be multiple countries.
You can use Six of Crows/Crooked Kingdom for about an artist. They're con artists, the one character is a tailor.
Anyway hope this helps. I finished this series this year and used them for prompts.
152458 I'm going to do 2017s challenge as well and I need a recommendation for a book written in letters. I've read and loved The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
152458 Teri wrote: "I have never read a graphic novel before, and I've been wanting to start with They Called Us Enemy by George Takei."

It is totally worth your time to read it.

152458 Right now, I think I'm slating The Martian in but there are tons of options for me.

You could just use a filter on your tbr list for the most ratings. That way everyone means people with similar reading tastes to you.

152458 If it's book 6 of a series can it count?

A Stranger in Town by Kelley Armstrong

The main character is a detective and she helps her best friend escape an abusive relationship by going to a remote part of the artic and living in an off grid community.
152458 I'm also ignoring the American part. I have done the 2016 and 2020 challenges simultaneously this year. A 2016 prompt was 'set in your home state', which does not work when you are Canadian and have provinces. Just read a Muslim author, or a North/South American Muslim author.

For some non-fiction I reccomend these two.

I Shall Not Hate: A Gaza Doctor's Journey on the Road to Peace and Human Dignity by Izzeldin Abuelaish

and this one is less heavy subject matter
Laughing All the Way to the Mosque by Zarqa Nawaz (She created the tv show Little Mosque On The Prairie)

Thanks for posting. I saw a couple of great options. You have a lot of things I've already read.

Okay bear with me here. I watched stargate sg6 and none of the other shows. How come the novels are stargate sg 1 and they're using the actors from sg6?
152458 I posted this suggestion in the check-ins this past week.

You can always use a cookbook. There are even a few graphic novel cookbooks. A cookbook could work for the body positivity prompt too.
