I was, but I really wasn't enthused. I've seen them before. I guess twice is enough? LOL
152458 I pretty much inhaled this book and didn't manage to get back to answer the specific questions, but it looks as if you did a superb job of leading and enabling discussion, Joanna! Thank you so much!!

Looks like I gave them all three stars, which is standard. They were all perfectly fine but nothing really made me swoon. Whose Body got 4, I didn't expect it to be so amusing."

It was, wasn't it? I do enjoy Sayers' writing!

"QOTW:
I guess I'll say Whose Body, just because I didn't know Lord Peter Wimsey would be kinda funny. With a name like that I should have had a clue, but noooo"

I thought the characters' names was one of the funniest parts!

Lynn- I'm sorry to hear about your husband, and really hope you get the resources and help you need to care for him. 🤍🤍"

Thank you so much! It helps to simply have support from others!

I am not often in favor of violence, but every single person you and your husband intersected with should, at the very least, have been shaken like a rag doll...and choking could accidentally occur during the shaking! LOL"

I typically use my imagination for the violence and then am much less inclined to actually do violence! LOL Shaking...accidentally choking... Yeah, I could do that! 😁

Glad you and your husband are both feeling a little bit better. You've still got your sense of humor! I know you know this, but advocate like hell for the both of you to get all the services available. I worked in mental health for a long time, but for both mental and physical health: supports are out there, but they can be hard to find and hard to access. Don't give up! Drop a line if I can be a support, aka: if you need to avoid choking someone! (though I'm actually a fan of choking those who are deserving... ;)"

LOL Sounds as if we are cut out of the same cloth! One appointment with our PCP has greatly relieved my mind. That and the fact that I have already had two blow-ups at my husband for not using the walker as directed to do, etc. He seems to be much more cooperative now. As I told him, "If you fall now it will most likely involve head injury or broken bone or whatever, and then I won't be able to care for you at home. I'm trying to do my best to keep you here, but you have to help me do that!" I think maybe that finally got through to him...

I appreciate your offer. My good friend who just endured the heart procedure texted to ask what she could do to help and I replied, "Just be there to help keep me sane." Her response? "Isn't there something easier I could do?" LOL Gotta love humor! It helps get us through a lot. 😁

152458 Life is not easy right now, but it could always be worse! We do not live in a war zone. We have access to food, clean water, medical care, etc. Gratitude is what I choose! I am so thankful to have found our PCP. I felt so much better after our appointment with him Tuesday! This man is so knowledgeable and sensible! More gratitude!! I was able to teach for an hour last evening while my husband stayed with a neighbor. I have to teach for two hours tomorrow evening and have no one to stay with him, so it looks as if he’ll have to stay at the gym or in the car while I teach. We shall see… Our PCP thought he would be okay on his own next week. I’m uncertain, but also realize I cannot be with him 24/7, nor do either of us want that!! 😊 Onward and upward! We should be starting PT and OT appointments next week and then a recheck with our PCP on the 25th. Fingers crossed!

A list! There were some listed here that were new to me! And since we have a neurodiversity prompt this year… 😊 Penguin UK’s listing of The Essential Books to Read About Neurodiversity:

Question of the Week:
What is your most recent read that was so good you could barely put it down?
I found Mitz: The Marmoset of Bloomsbury by Sigrid Nunez to be an amazingly intriguing read.

And The Maid (Molly the Maid #1) by Nita Prose was so much more enjoyable than I expected! Molly proved to be a much more complex character than I had imagined she might be!

152458 I'm glad to see Stark back in this book. It appears she has learned a bit better to appreciate Molly's attention to detail and not get so frustrated by Molly's honest and direct observations. I was thrilled to see Molly refer to their previous interactions:
If you're here to investigate, it would be preferable to avoid gross miscarriages of justice this time around."
I felt this was a nice way to emphasize that jumping to conclusions and wanting to press charges before accumulating evidence, etc., would be unwise... Since that was what happened last time...

I am impressed by Molly's ability to learn and change her behaviors with regard to social interactions. And I find her mention of her gran's little euphemisms is quite entertaining! Such as To err once is human; to err twice is idiotic. LOL
152458 I have read through Chapter 6.

Oh, my! I have all kinds of possibilities floating through my head regarding Mr. Grimthorpe and his prior contact with Molly! I just hope it isn't as traumatic as my imagination can make it! What possibilities were the first to come into your mind?

And I just realized the title is definitely ironic...a double entendre of sorts.

And the personal assistant, cutting out immediately, etc. Do you think this might be a 'red herring'? Or is she now your #1 suspect?

Fortunately, his symptoms are not severe and he already has made gains in his maneuverability, etc. 😋

"And, since I'm here 😊 ... I just coincidentally read The Mystery Guest and was as touched by Molly as I was in the first book. And appreciate that the main characters around her are understanding and non-judgemental. It could have gone in another direction, and we don't need any more hate."
I really enjoyed The Maid and am enjoying this second installment as well. Yes. Hate is so regressive! We need respect, acceptance, appreciation and whenever possible LOVE! At least IMO! 🤗

I think there are some who work as patient advocates. A social worker did come by, but as with most of the nursing staff yesterday, seemed pretty disinterested and I was overwhelmed and just couldn't get it together to speak with her about much. I'm certain our PCP will be very helpful. I have already been texting with him. He is so very caring, empathetic, and sympathetic, that it calms me...at least somewhat! 😊

I'm truly hoping they send me a satisfaction survey. We also had some of the worst nurses I've encountered, which is very unusual for this hospital system, at least in my past experiences with them. It just wasn't a very enjoyable experience overall... But we survived it! That's the good news. And I allowed those whose performance was sub-par to also survive! A win-win! LOL

"Currently reading:
XOXO by Axie Oh- I'm enjoying this one a lot right now. I wasn't expecting to. This is for the prompt that starts with the letter x. I'm relieved because I have ASAP ready to read next for the K-pop prompt."

So glad you posted this! I was unaware there is an XOXO #2!

"QotW: I enjoyed Slay by Brittney Morris last month. I wasn't expecting to like it either. I guess it's a good reminder of why I like the popsugar challenges. I'm "forced" to read things I wouldn't normally read and find new types of books I really enjoy. :)"
I LOVE it when that happens!!
