I have a feeling I'm going to be equally disappointed by the time I'll be done with it.

I'm 200 pages in and I'm already feeling it...

147920 What do you think about the characters?? So far I'm not able to connect to anyone, though I do like how Julien is described.

147920 In all honesty, I was expecting this book to be as good as The Night Circus, but I'm really not impressed by the writing. Where I was expecting enchanting descriptions, I found them to be forced and unnecessary. Even the world-building failed to fascinate me. Maybe it's because my mind is constantly trying to compare this book with Night Circus, but I don't find the book as appealing as I thought I would. I'm skimming over descriptions and just trying to read the book as fast as I can to be done with it.

Even I'm finding the descriptions too lengthy and mostly unnecessary.

Thanks for the suggestion, but we're not having a buddy read in Jan. Though if you want to have one here, you can most definitely host one (anyone can host a buddy-read here!)

Sorry, no. We're still discussing the buddy-read schedule. We'll most probably have the first buddy read in February or March.

147920 I'll be going for Level 3: Bookworm: 6 - 8 books for this year. And I'm planning on completing the Richard Hannay Series by John Buchan (an amazing espionage series recommended by our Classics Professor, Dagny.) I'm yet to read the 3rd, 4th and the 5th book, so I'll be reading this in 2019. Plus a couple of other books that would be recommended by Dagny for this year and some Manga Classics if I can get my hands on any.
I also have a couple of Agatha Christie books, so I'll try and tackle them too.

147920 I'm going to go for Level 3: Bookworm: 10-15 books. For this year I have a lot of audiobooks; (some are the latest bestsellers and some are Stephen King's books that I desperately need to read. I even have one by Dean Koontz, so I'm really excited for the coming year!!

147920 I've not read all of his books, but I'm trying to read his earlier works first (but then he comes out with new ones again and again and then I feel like reading the new ones, lol.) So far, my absolute favourite is Duma Key.

147920 Oh god, you guys are making me so curious! I'll be receiving my book on the 8th (the day after tomorrow) so I'm finishing a couple of other books I had to read so that when I start this one, I won't have any other book's tension.

147920 #2 Braidy von Althuis: And the Gullible Ghost Hunter - 3.5/5

A step down from the first one as a couple of characters I loved were not present in this book, but the story was still good.
I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

147920 Nilendra wrote: "What do you think about the new movies series revolving around Dumbledore/Grindelwald? "

I liked the first movie - it was truly captivating! But the second one (the latest one) wasn't that impressive. It felt a little too flat, at least to me it did.

Haha... I've been trying not to buy any books from the last couple of months. Lol. It's so difficult to resist!
I had no idea that Altered Carbon show was based on a book. I'll have to watch it now. Looking forward to knowing what you thought of the book.
And thanks. Hugs back to you!
