Hi, Heena! I have not been very present in the last months,
favoring the readings rather than books discussions. But I hope to be with you for the next year. :)

147920 I this days I'm reading Theft of Swords a wonderful book. The story is intriguing with a couple of characters that complement each other.

147920 I'm reading On Stranger Tides, a nice adventure novel about pirates and magic. In the same time, I'm reading Come tracce sulla sabbia a funny and intriguing mystery series, with a main character, a reporter, sometimes serious but many times definitely clumsy.

Hi, Heena, happy to meet you again!
I like Tim Powers style and fantasy, so I hope you like too. This is a wonderful pirates adventure, with naval battles and skirmishes and bad guys that are so evil, but you can't help to cheer for them. :)

It's a good book, easy to read. Pirates adventures are always funny and full of action. :)

What was the one book you read by Tim Powers before this one?"

A couple of years ago I read The Anubis Gates, a funny story with good ideas, around a time travel. Reading this one, I'm thinking that I could reread that one too.

I like the story and till now it's funny. I read only one books by Tim Powers, before this one, so I can't recognize his style, but there is action, a background story of the main character and a touch of magic. A good novel! I read little in these days, so I'm proceeding slowly, but I'm satisfied of this book. :)
147920 I am far behind and I've finished only the 4th chapter. I liked the mix of magic and adventure and I'm looking forward to see the part of Blackbeard in the story.
In these first chapters there is few action, with many descriptions about facts and characters, but it's a funny story. Pirates are not completely evil, even though Hurwood and Leo Friend give me the creeps.
147920 Wow! This is an intriguing title and I like the style of Tim Powers! I will start it as soon as I get the book. :)

147920 #1. Yesterday I finished Finders Keepers. The second book of Bill Hodges trilogy. Good story and characters. I'm looking forward to read the next and see how it will end the series.

I read a couple of the Grafton books and I liked. I would like to continue (and maybe complete) the series before the end of the year. Some months ago I read Mr Mercedes and bought the other two books, so I'm able to complete the series. For me, it's a greart work by King, with interesting and sometimes funny characters.

A friend of mine told me about "The Technicolor Time Machine" and I would be curious to read it. :)

147920 This is what I would like to read this month:

C is for Corpse (EB)
The Ice Princess (EB)

I hope to finish them all, but in any case it will be funny.

Really? Where is the legendary efficiency of Amazon? In my experience, it's usually fast. I hope you can read it soon. I stopped with the fourth book, because I lost interest from the second onward, but I hope to restart soon, even just for see the end. :)
