Why thank you, Monz! And yes, I did find out that the blank lines really help, because it lets my creative flow keep going even when I get stuck on
that one word which is inevitable with any story I write. :)
Haha, good idea XD

yay! Oh, I believe it is your turn, Emmeline to choose the last character....

"...Claire, you've
got to tell the teacher, this is getting out of hand - oh, hey Amy." Sophie interrupted what seemed like one of her rants to Claire and turned to see me.
"Don't let me keep you from talking, finish what you were saying...oh wait, is this about -" I was cut off, however, by a very fierce glare from Sophie. I looked around, then mouthed, "
WHAT" to her.
"
S-A-M" Sophie mouthed, and I shut my mouth immediately. I looked around again, and spotted her. Samantha and her cronies (as we called them) we standing near her parents, laughing and talking and completely ignoring us. I didn't mind, in fact, I was glad she was ignoring us, because if she was ignoring us that meant she'd leave us alone, and that was just fine with me.
I looked back at Sophie and mouthed, "
WHAT'D SHE DO THIS TIME?"
Sophie just shook her head and waved her hand as if to say, "I'll tell you later." Then she turned back to Claire and continued trying to persuade her to do...well
something, but I wasn't really listening. Instead, I was staring over at Samantha again, lost in thought.
A minute or so had gone by, but when I shook myself out of my trance, I was staring at some very nice, suede boots with (probably real) fur lining that were tapping impatiently in my face. My eyes traveled up and I bit my lip. It was Samantha. How I hadn't noticed her coming over here in her bright lavender dress (yes, she was wearing a dress, unlike the rest of the fourth grade, and yes she was wearing boots usually kept for the winter with it. She had an odd taste.) was beyond me. But at the moment her face was twisted into a forced smile, and her hands were on her hips.
"Hell
ooo Amy...might I ask one teensy-weensy question?" She was smiling even wider now, and I could see perfect white teeth in her smile, the T.V. commercial image broken only by that one tooth that never seemed to be able to get as white as the rest.
I scrambled to my feet, a tad ungracefully - okay,
a lot ungracefully, and noticed a hush had fallen over the rest of the fourth grade girls.
"Yeah?" I said, standing level with her. We were the exact same height, but at that moment I wished I was at least one tiny inch taller, then maybe I'd
feel __________. But alas, unless the spinich on my plate had some magic pixie dust in it, I was to stay ___ ft __ for the moment.
"Why were you staring at me, Amy?" She said sweetly, her voice high and musical. She did that whenever she knew she was in charge. She'd make her voice go a little higher and sound like she was in the Sound of Music, but try as I might, I could never talk like that without doubling over coughing after a few minutes. It was hard to do. But back to the question at hand.
"What do you mean, Samantha?" I asked cooly, putting my own hands on my hips as well. None of the other girls stood up to help me, not even Sophie. I was always the one to stand up to Sam, even if it wasn't all that effective. So, I wasn't all that surprised when no one came to my rescue. Someone did gasp, however. Oh yeah, did I mention that? Sam now
hates being called by her full name, and insists everyone calls her Sam - which everyone does...except me, and I definitely like to rub it in her face.
She narrowed her eyes. "You were
staring at me, Amy (that also annoyed her a great deal, since my name was so simple to begin with, there was no possible way to make it longer to try and annoy
me...except maybe Amiable, but that wasn't even a name.),
why were you staring at me?" Truth be told, I hadn't
meant to be staring at her for so long, I just got lost in thought...which happened a lot.
"Oh, I don't know, maybe I was just staring at the...spinach in your teeth, you know." I gestured to my own teeth, hoping to great God I'd gotten it all out of my own.
Sam shrieked and put her hands to her mouth, shot one last glare in my direction, and fled up to the school bathrooms to check, Charlotte and Lucy in tow.

[ ↬ PERSONALITY ↫ ]
Deѕcrιpтιoɴ (Aт leαѕт 4 lιɴeѕ): Aries is a fierce girl who will not back down from a challenge. If one was to get in an argument with her they'd end up on the ground with their arm twisted behind their back, Aries standing over them hissing in their ear to take it back. She was never close to the other girls in her village, or the boys, even. She was always too fierce and short tempered with the girls, and she could beat all the boys in any fight, so they didn't want to have her around them, either. When asked to describe Aries in one word, every one of the villagers asked said, "mean."
True, she isn't the nicest daisy in the garden - in fact she's more like the biggest and thorniest rose that's sitting in a pot all by itself on top of a stepping stone a little ways away from the other flowers, but she makes herself that way. Long ago she barricaded herself from everyone else, and swore not to let anyone past her fierce wall of protection. If anyone gets even close to finding out the real her, she either punches them in the gut or gives them a black eye, and just walks away. That gives her the image of being mean and unfeeling. But she really isn't. In reality, there's much more to her.

Deѕcrιpтιoɴ (Aт leαѕт 4 lιɴeѕ): Capricorn, nicknamed Ricky to and only to his mother, can definitely be described as ambitious. Ever since he was seven, when the last praetorian guard was chosen, he'd decided that's what he wanted to be. And when he decides something, it happens. Once an idea or a decision enters his mind, it occupies his conscious thinking at all times until it is completed or gained. He knows that whatever he has to do, whatever it is, he will do it to get what he wants. So, that was when he started training, and from that moment on until he becomes first praetorian guard, he will do whatever it takes.
Not that he doesn't have other aspects of his personality, oh no. He's also smart, extremely smart, witty, humorous, (though sometimes the things he finds funny others might not), efficent, realistic, and disciplined.

Main Qualities: Straightforward. Brave. Blunt but unknowingly. Philosophical. Wise. Adventurous. Restless.
Deѕcrιpтιoɴ (Aт leαѕт 4 lιɴeѕ): Sagittarius, nicknamed Terry to his friends and family, is very wise. He thinks philosophically, thinking every situation through before charging into battle. He would make a very interesting praetorian guard, one who would most likely be effective, but not probably fast enough. His father, however, is who wants him to be first praetorian guard, maybe even settle for second, but he definitely wants his son to do something in the world.
Sagittarius can be extremely straightforward and blunt, but he never means to offend or hurt whoever he is talking to. If this does happen, he encourages the person to tell him and he will apologize, having meant no harm in his words.
While he is philosophical and wise, however, he is also adventurous and a tad restless. He wants to get out on the battlefield, but the way he thinks things through can delay him, until his chance has passed and he is no longer needed.
What he needs to learn most: To stop thinking so much and just do it.

I've finished with my three character profiles so far, wanna see them, Kam?

No, it's okay! Just, er, wait did you pick four and which ones so me and Emmeline can get our last two...

"Um...yeah same here..." I cleared my throat and tried desperately to think of something else to talk about, but my mind was blank. Finally it was Avery who said, "Have any plans for this summer?"
Extremely relieved, I answered, "Well, my mom's signed me up for a few camps - Girl Scout Camp, Theater camp, you know...what about you? Are you going to any camps this summer?"
"No..." Avery said, swallowed hard, then continued. "I'm going to my aunt and uncle's, though, for most of the summer..."
Probably so her parents can sort things out without their kids getting in the way... But aloud I said, "Cool...I hear they live on a farm - that'll be fun, right?"
Avery gave a small, noncommittal grunt-sound, and began pushing her food around again. It didn't seem like she wanted to talk anymore, so I casually turned away, then scooted closer to Claire and Sophie and the few other girls.
