Probably none of my books lol; I've been in my indie era. 😂 Not sure if she's this popular, but I'm almost done with Helene Tursten's An Elderly Lady is Up to No Good. It was popular for a hot second, but not sure it was that popular.
Oh, they are his parents; just he's not that important lol. Lol, tbh I do not remember that chapter, but I think that was still when the stepsister was faking it. Long story, no spoilers.
Ah okay, didn't realize it was on KU; good for it lol! I'm a physical girlie who is trying to appreciate audiobooks more lol, but ebooks suffer horrid fates with me lol.Tbh, I didn't remember the king and queen having dialogue; maybe an edict being read by a flunky... Lol, they were pretty minor (but present!!). The Stepsister was basically the MC, with "Cinderella" (and that wasn't her name, but I'll be danged if I remember what it was lol...) as a second MC or very major side character basically... I like retellings where the focus shifts. 😁
Guess it's time for me to go read more cozy fantasy so I can find more royalty lol! 😄 Of course we may not ever get a similar task again, but not like I don't have a stack to read anyway...
I think the book still works, since they're there, but the prince isn't even a main character, so just wanna make sure we're not giving it more than its due lol.
Okay! In Stepsister, the king and queen are ultimately the stepsister's in-laws. Not sure what had them as the MC's parents, but the MC is the stepsister to "Cinderella" and "Cinderella" married the prince.
Unless you've found something bigger, my book The Sorcerer and the Swan Princess has a king in it as a major side character. The Stepsister and the Slipper also has a king and queen, but they're almost only mentioned in passing, so I'm not sure that will work.
I added my most recent book at the bottom of our log. 204 pages so I doubt it matters for Salary, but it was out of order.
I was able to find Weyward as our chonkiest debut, so I used that and ended our turn. Now two spaces from Salary.

I just started our turn; we landed on Debut Drive, so the task is to read an author's debut novel. This earns us $.50 per page, so hopefully there's a chonker to grab for this since this is 5x what we would get from Salary for the same book! Off to troll our book log!

Woohoo, Emilie!! And our Salary is soon! Great job! I'm working towards getting back to chonky books, since longer books were a struggle bus over the weekend, so mad respect!!
Hi Kat, our wheel spin said we had to read a book with a purple cover, and I was able to get one out of our logged books. So it was a fast turn. :)
Ooh, I'm gonna see if some indie books will work for mine. They're set in space, but I'm not sure what's in them. So will either work or I'm back to Murderbot lol.
Wow, Char! Way to go!! I DNFed my 300 page book; so boring. I'm basically dnfing my 400 page book; had a good hook but is flat lining. 60 pages into a 200 page book and I'm loving it. (It's part of a series I like, so not shocked there.) I think the 300pg book was plot driven, but not fast enough, and the 400pg is character driven at this point and I struggle with that format...
I think since this is a mini-game, we don't have to read the uncomfortable book, but I think we're all kinda there anyway lol. :D
