139735 This really does feel like there was supposed to be more.

I think its all the religion around it, just saying The Vatican, but I didn't really enjoy this one.

I was surprised the Luca is the missing lover but I'm glad Christoph and Alain got back at the end, but he's gonna have a lot of self hatred....

139735 I got my list on the spreadsheet. Here is what I have. I was able to use most of these in my solar system challenge so I will probably stick to it.

The Marked Prince
All Systems Red
Flux
Running Close to the Wind
Sorcerer of the Wildeeps
First and Last Adventure of Kit Sawyer
Remarkably Bright Creatures
Alpha Winter's Mate : A Cold-Hearted Gay Werewolf Romance Novel
The Emperor and the Endless Palace
Wild Sky

Think my Genre swap will be Flux since I usually read romance and that is not romance OR All Systems Red since Sci-Fi is a very rare read for me.

139735 I'll try and finalize during the snowstorm tomorrow. Then hope they work for hunt/

139735 I would so re-read Kit Sawyer. I really enjoyed that one.

I did find 10 that had Mountain Climbing (from ChatGPT) so it might not be as bad as you think....

A few more days and i can start solidifying my choices.

139735 Ok. Will not be listening to this. I'm gonna read this tomorrow.

139735 I definitely see the instalust. That is for sure there. I'm not sure how much love while he is still so hung up on his ex.
Mar 20, 2025 09:56PM

139735 Hmm. I don't really see the instalovey...

I'm not hooked, but I'm curious, so that will get me to keep going. I'm taking a small break for a Sue Brown book on the Kindle and starting the Long Call on Audio.

139735 I do have A Mage's Power on my TBR and can get it from Kobo. I also like Sam Burns so The King's Dragon sounds good if it works too.

139735 These are supposedly MM Romance with Mountain Climb...again have not checked yet.

Fantasy with Mountain Climbs & M/M Romance:
The High King’s Golden Tongue by Megan Derr – This fantasy romance follows Prince Allen, who is sent to negotiate with the cold, battle-hardened High King. Mountain travels and political intrigue bring them closer—and into danger.

Lord of the White Hell by Ginn Hale – A magical academy story where a young nobleman falls for his mysterious roommate. Their journey eventually leads to dangerous mountains and ancient magic.

The Eternal Dungeon by Dusk Peterson – In this dark fantasy, a compassionate torturer falls for his prisoner. Expect emotional depth, intrigue, and a treacherous mountain escape.

Prince of the Moon by Megan Derr – A fantasy where a prince must climb cursed mountains and face magical trials while falling for his bodyguard along the way.

The Stagsblood Prince by Gideon E. Wood – This romantic fantasy features a prince who embarks on a dangerous quest through snowy mountains, accompanied by a mysterious, brooding companion.

Adventure, Magic & Love in the Mountains:
A Mage’s Power by Casey Wolfe – A mage-in-training and a powerful warrior must cross dangerous peaks and battle magical enemies while navigating their growing feelings.

The King's Dragon by W.M. Fawkes & Sam Burns – Featuring a royal heir and his dragon-guard protector, this story includes high mountain climbs and an even higher-stakes romance.

Stray by Andrea K. Höst – While not solely M/M, this fantasy features multiple queer relationships as the protagonist and their companions traverse mysterious, otherworldly mountains.

The Black Blade by Jaye McKenna – When a prince is captured and taken to a mountain fortress, a telepathic warrior must rescue him while confronting his feelings.

The Long Past & Other Stories by Ginn Hale – A collection of steampunk-fantasy novellas, including one about a mountain expedition where two former lovers reunite to face prehistoric magic.

139735 I got this from ChatGPT. I have not looked at any of them to see if they would be good or not.

139735 Here are 10 fantasy books where mountain climbs play a key role in the adventure:

Epic Quests & Mountain Adventures:
"The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" by J.R.R. Tolkien – The iconic journey through the Misty Mountains and Caradhras is just one of many perilous climbs in this epic tale.

"The Way of Kings" by Brandon Sanderson – Part of the Stormlight Archive, this epic fantasy features treacherous landscapes, including high mountain plateaus and daring climbs.

"The Last Stormlord" by Glenda Larke – In a world where water is magic, characters must traverse deadly cliffs and mountains to save their drought-stricken kingdom.

"The Silvered" by Tanya Huff – A fantasy adventure where a group of mages and shapeshifters must climb treacherous mountains to rescue prisoners and stop a war.

"The Bone Shard Daughter" by Andrea Stewart – This fantasy adventure includes mountain climbs and island-hopping as a daughter seeks to reclaim her throne using mysterious bone magic.

Magic, Myths & Dangerous Peaks:
"The Blacktongue Thief" by Christopher Buehlman – A rogue thief journeys through dangerous landscapes—including mountains filled with magical creatures and ancient secrets.

"The Priory of the Orange Tree" by Samantha Shannon – This epic dragon fantasy includes a daring journey through a cursed mountain range central to the world’s fate.

"City of Stairs" by Robert Jackson Bennett – While more of a political fantasy, the characters scale hidden, magical ruins within mountainous territories to uncover divine mysteries.

"Shadow of the Gods" by John Gwynne – A Norse-inspired fantasy where the characters must scale icy mountains and face ancient god-beasts in a land of danger and destiny.

"The Thousand Deaths of Ardor Benn" by Tyler Whitesides – A high-stakes heist fantasy where the crew navigates towering peaks and floating mountains to pull off an impossible mission.

139735 I've promised myself that if a book has 40 points or more I'm not looking for a better point book. Especially with this one, I won't have time to look like I did in the past.
Mar 20, 2025 08:17PM

139735 Found this on Audio, so will start during office hours tomorrow.

139735 I'm 25% done and not quite sure. Alain and Christoph got off to a rough start, but I'm 25% in and not sure where this is going. What has Santino been up to?

If the Commandant want Christoph in the special projects, which I assume he does otherwise why would he assign him to Alain, why not just say it?

Also, what did Luca do on his week free from the Vatican? Hmm...
And who is the "lover" of Alain's who died..

maybe I should just keep reading.

I did not check Hoopla. and they do have it there so i'd probably be in for that one too.

Kirsten, should we hold dark space for this or maybe use darker space?"

If we can? Or we can read it now so you can use it for Uno. It's up to you."

I have another Alien go to I can read for Uno. Or check to see if anyone else has Aliens in their selections. Its only for the Mini.

139735 I can't seem to find the Sorcerer anywhere that isn't $5...It looks good, but not sure I want to spend that....

The Emperor looks good I'd be in for that.

Running Close to the Wind looks good too. Could possibly use that for the Genre Swap as Pirates is usually something I avoid.

I'm probably a no on Providence Girls....

And I'm probably in for Flux.

I requested Flux and Running from my Library.

139735 I might need help getting these to work with the Hunt Categories when they are out. Between this 10 and the Hunt 10 that is 20 of my average 27 books per month....I need to be able to use some for both of these.... :)

Please and thank you.

139735 I've been thinking space opera. I don't think I've ever read one. I'll probably wait for sci Fi month though.
