139735 🧩 Prompt # 4: Saint / Sinner

Type: Split Prompt

What this means:
This is a Split Prompt, which means each of you will choose one side of the theme and pick a book inspired by it. You're reading different books, but building a connection between your contrasting choices.

For this one:
One of you picks Saint — a story with a morally upright, idealistic, or self-sacrificing protagonist. Think healers, heroes, or people just trying to do the right thing no matter what.

The other picks Sinner — a book featuring a morally gray, selfish, chaotic, or outright villainous main character. Think antiheroes, con artists, dark lords, or loveable disasters.

📌 Once you’ve both finished reading, post your Story Stitch (your connection blurb) in the Check-In Thread to unlock your next prompt.

Saints and sinners come in many forms. 😇😈

139735 🧩 Prompt #3: Order & Chaos

Type: Mirror Prompt

What this means:
This is a Mirror Prompt, so you and your partner will both work from the same theme — but take opposite approaches.

For this one:
One of you picks Order — a book where structure, control, tradition, or routine plays a central role. Think carefully planned systems, disciplined characters, or tidy resolutions.

The other picks Chaos — a book where things spiral, shift rapidly, or resist control. Think upheaval, unpredictable twists, or characters who reject the rules.

📌 Once you’ve both finished reading, post your Story Stitch (your connection blurb) in the Check-In Thread to unlock your next prompt.

Some stories follow the rules — others set them on fire. 🗂️🔥

139735 You are just missing the Plot Bridge between the two books.

📌 What’s a Story Stitch (aka your Plot Bridge)?

It’s your connection blurb — the thread you and your partner weave between your two books. You’re showing us how they align, clash, reflect, or echo each other. It can be deep and thematic… or delightfully surface-level. There’s no wrong way to stitch a story — just tell us what ties your reads together.

Here are two examples:

🧵 Complex Example:
One of us read a dystopian novel where memory is erased to control the population. The other read a nonfiction book about collective trauma and how societies forget what hurts them. Both books ask the same question: Who are we, if we can't remember what we've lost?

🧵 Simple Example:
Both our books were written by authors named “Becky,” featured chaotic road trips, and had at least one morally questionable raccoon. Fate? Maybe. Fun? Absolutely.

🎯 Whether your books mirror each other, dance around a theme, or just share a surprise raccoon — your Stitch is what keeps this challenge connected. Share it proudly, stretch it wildly, and make it yours

139735 While Creepy/Scary movies are not my thing..."True" Ghost stories are the best. I also love stories about murder and serial killers and things like that.

Did a Ghost Tour of my hometown ones. Standing under the bridge with an EM Reader and one of them talked to me. Loved it!

139735 🧩 Prompt #5: Puzzle / Chaos

Type: Mirror Prompt

What this means:
This is a Mirror Prompt, so you and your partner are working with the same theme — but from opposite sides of the concept.

For this one:
One of you picks Puzzle — a book that features mystery, strategy, hidden meanings, or characters trying to solve or understand something. Think clues, codes, or complex plans.

The other picks Chaos — a book filled with unpredictable events, impulsive choices, or breakdowns of order. Think disasters, wild energy, or beautiful messes.

📌 Once you’ve both finished reading, post your Story Stitch (your connection blurb) in the Check-In Thread to unlock your next prompt.

Some stories solve the riddle. Others throw the pieces in the air. 🧩💥

139735 🧩 Prompt # 5: Real World / Other World

Type: Split Prompt

What this means:
This is a Split Prompt, which means each of you picks one half of the paired theme and reads a book inspired by that choice. Your reads will be different, but thematically linked.

For this one:
One of you will pick a book grounded in the Real World — contemporary, historical fiction, memoir, or anything that feels rooted in reality.

The other will escape to the Other World — fantasy, magical realism, speculative fiction, or alternate realities. If it bends the rules of reality, it fits.

📌 Once you’ve both finished reading, post your Story Stitch (your connection blurb) in the Check-In Thread to unlock your next prompt.

Reality or fantasy — both have stories worth telling. 🌍✨

139735 I can pair your light with Mind Magic, which has a moon on the cover.

Or Your Dark with A Mended Man because its a story of healing.

I'm reading both this week so which ever you want.
139735 You are just missing the way the book connect. You have how the books each fit your individual prompts, but are missing how they connect, despite the differences.

It can be deep and thematic… or delightfully surface-level. There’s no wrong way to stitch a story — just tell us what ties your reads together.

Here are two examples:

🧵 Complex Example:

139735 🧩 Prompt #:3 Journey / Stay

Type: Wildcard Prompt

What this means:
This is a Wildcard Prompt. Each of you chooses one side of the theme — one selects Journey, the other picks Stay.

Then your partner gives you three book options that match your chosen theme — and you’ll select one to read. Swapping roles after is optional — go for it if you’re up for an extra round!

For this one:
Journey can be literal (road trip, quest, adventure) or emotional (growth, change, discovery).
Stay could mean stillness, holding ground, protecting what’s familiar, or finding peace in one place or state of mind.

📌 Once you’ve both finished reading, post your Story Stitch (your connection blurb) in the Check-In Thread to unlock your next prompt.

Movement isn’t always the point — sometimes, it’s the choice that matters. 🚶‍♀️🛋️

139735 🧩 Prompt #2: Burn It Down / Build It Up

Type: Split Prompt

What this means:
This is a Split Prompt, so each of you will choose one half of the prompt to interpret in your own way. You're reading different books, but they should both reflect transformation — through destruction or creation.

For this one:
Burn It Down might mean rebellion, revenge, breaking free, tearing down systems, or choosing chaos.
Build It Up could be about healing, starting over, creating something new, or rebuilding after loss.

📌 Once you’ve both finished reading, post your Story Stitch (your connection blurb) in the Check-In Thread to unlock your next prompt.

There’s more than one way to light a match — or lay a foundation. 🔥🧱
