137842 I completed the final season of Downton Abbey (S6), and also season 13 of Supernatural.

I'd like to continue on to season 14 and maybe start on Once Upon a Time too please.

137842 Finished Psycho (Psycho #1) by Robert Bloch , which was much gruesome fun.

Next prompt:

"Read a book by an Aquarius author"

First one that came to mind was Dickens, so grabbed The Haunted House by Charles Dickens , as I've read pretty much everything else by him already :D

137842 Grabbed another prompt this morning:

"read a book with a 1-word title"

I grabbed Psycho (Psycho #1) by Robert Bloch , because I have several different challenges that all want a story made from book titles on the go, and no story is complete without a psycho or two, right?

It also means I can move along with a challenge I've been stalled on for a loooooooong time, because I needed to read a book with the word "psycho" in the title. :D

137842 The MC really really likes pink, lol.

Basically she comes across as much younger than she's meant to be (16) a lot of the time. Most people have more patience than me for that kind of thing. :D

137842 Not picking another prompt just yet, as have specific books to read for TT, but maybe I'll do another in a week or so :)

Well, I wasn't hugely impressed, but I'm not a big fan of YA at the best of times. It was far too juvenile for my liking. Probably not surprising, as my daughter read and enjoyed it when she was 13, lol.

But if you enjoy YA, you may enjoy this one anyway. so long as you don't have a particular dislike of the colour pink, lol.

But at least you can be somewhat prepared when the painful death thing occurs? ;)

137842 It makes a lovely Clio, so yes, lol. and there's a pretty dress on the cover as a backup, so all good.
Jul 22, 2022 02:28AM

137842 Yeah... hence why I'm pretty sure it'll end up leaving the house when I'm done. I do find the occasional YA I like, but they're few and far between.
Daughter handed me this about a decade ago to read (she was 13 or so then). told her I'd get around to it eventually. It's now eventually, lol.

137842 Finished Tangerine by Christine Mangan , which was rather underwhelming, but it's all good, as I need to make space for more books, so this one is going to the little free library.

New Prompt:

Read a paranormal/Urban Fantasy

I decided to get Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White out of the way, which has been sitting on the shelf for about a decade. I suspect this will also be a "make more room" book, but I can live with that, lol.

137842 Going away for a few days next week, and will have tons of reading time, so choosing myself a couple of books to take.

So first prompt:

Read a second-hand book - Tangerine - which will be useful if my team needs another book set in Africa for TT.

I'm also taking Billy Summers, because new King comes first, and of course my audible library will be at my fingertips.

Now please point the way to the seaside, thanks! lol.

You sure you don't want Eni or me to suggest something for you..? *evil chuckle*

137842 Finished Stray (Shifters, #1) by Rachel Vincent . Story not *too* terrible, but very unlikable and TSTL MC (and love interest for that matter) made it a bust for me. At least I could get rid of it and the other 4 in the series (was given them years ago by someone who had finished with them) and now have room for 5 more books! Woohoo!

Teehee, I can relate.

when my daughter moved out, I added 3 and 1/2 new 6ft bookcases to her room, which take up an entire wall. I also have an entire wall in the living room, and 4 other bookcases dotted about the house...

And still I have no space for books! lol.

137842 yeah, nothing like a reading challenge to mess up your reading plans, lol. It's exactly the reason I don't do more than one competitive challenge at a time.

But just think of how good you'll feel when you get some of those books read ;)
