137842 I have a handful of water-based ones too (Distress Markers), and several sets of pencils (really love the Inktense ones. They're really vibrant!), but 99.9% of the time I use my Promarkers. My only niggle with them is that the nibs are quite thick, which is awkward when working on such a small scale (my cards are usually 14x14cm). I got some of the fine tips they did a few years ago, but they go furry (!!), so they got discontinued.

You use copic markers, right?

I never knew you could those blending, colour gradients with markers!"

I use Promarkers, which work pretty much the same way, though I have just ordered a couple of copics because Promarkers don't have a very dark brown.

The blending ability is 100% down to the substrate you use (with alcohol markers anyway). I use extremely smooth card, which allows for beautiful blending. If you use anything with tooth, it won't blend. so pretty much the opposite of pencil colouring ;)

137842 Oh they look fab Sonia!

I tend to use brown paper, usually with either something already printed on it, or I stamp designs myself. I actually like the look of brown paper better than any other, so it's all good, lol.

And don't get me started on washi tape... I have a shoebox full of the stuff! (in fact, just used some on the Christmas card I'm making for my father-in-law...) :D

I feel you, Sammy. The wait is hard for some of them. But there might be hope for the Thorn of Emberlain. I know it was pushed back a few times.... but I heard somew..."

That one at least has a release date. Not going to hold my breath, but I'm guessing out of the three that one's most likely. The other two I'm pretty sure will never actually be released. They're both loaded, they don't need the money and sure as heck won't be writing them for the love of it, lol.

I am never starting another series before it's finished. Unless it's Sanderson. He's a machine, lol.

137842 Ohhh, harder to choose than usual this year, probably because I've read so many more books!

Ups:

- Discovering Robert R. McCammon and all five of his books I've read this year.
- Swann's Way - I was expecting something dreary and difficult to understand, from what people have said about it over the years, but it turned out to be a delightful, easy read.
- The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie - Can't wait to read more Muriel Spark after this!
- Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls and Life's That Way. Two polar opposite (auto)biographies, one which made me laugh uncontrollably, the other I wasn't able to get very far with dry eyes at all.
- The Rosie Result - Such a great conclusion to the trilogy, and easily the best of the series.

The downs:

- Raft - Good lord Stephen Baxter is a boring, boring man!
- The Castle of Otranto - Speaking of boring...
- The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul Didn't enjoy the story, the writing or the characters at all. Basically as big of a flop as can be.
- Bourbon Creams and Tattered Dreams - This one falls under the heading "The crap we read for challenges". About as close to overblown daytime soap opera as it's possible to get in a book.

137842 Ohhhh, purple's my favourite colour! :)

have fun with those! :D

137842 I tried knitting once. I was about 6 and knitted a scarf for my dad. It started off about 30cm wide on one end, and was about 10cm wide at the other... I dropped a stitch or two somewhere along the way! lol.

He still wore it though!

137842 Ohhhh, I found a fun thread! I do a lot of crafting (perfect for keeping the hands busy while listening to audio books!).

I mostly make cards and do mixed media/altered art.
