Starting the final section. We can discuss the ending, but please use spoiler alerts!
As we start out, Amy Faye is continuing on her own doing the investigation. There is a meeting with Gordon's former brother-in-law, the accountant who claims Gordon was responsible for his daughter's death. Amy Faye indicates that she didn't find out much about the case from her meeting, but I wonder if that is true!
We also meet Foster's sad and pathetic wife, and learn a little more about him and his bad circumstances. Certainly the two of them together have enough anger and rage to have killed Gordon, and Mrs. F lied about not being at the pub on the night in question.

Allison, I was wondering about that too. Especially the part about not learning much about the people in the Readaholics.
Starting the third discussion today.

Hmmm. I wonder if I will have time to get this in.

Same to you, Tina and all the fellow Pis!

I was hoping to start the next section today, but I caught a cold over the weekend and didn't get to chapter 20. I did make it through THIS section, though. In chapter 18, there was a lot of stuff with Amy-Faye and the attorney going over police documents about who what where when. I know there must have been clues there, but I was unable to keep up with them! Must be the decongestants.
I hope to start the third section tomorrow!

And the plot thickens further as we meet Gordon's ex and his son! Ahhh! Suspects galore!

The plot thickens as we find out that one of the leaders of the "out the cheaters" group was actually married to Gordon!

Well, we are moving on with the discussion despite some understandable disinterest!
Well the next step in the investigation is toward the group of Gordon Marsh haters. We also find out that Foster, the janitor was responsible for some of the mess that ruined the opening of the pub, though apparently not the murder.
The plot is thickening, though. And not a dearth of suspects wanting Gordon dead, either!

Well, then, I'll go on! I'll start section 2 later today.

Well, what do you all think? I am willing to go the distance if you all are!

I just finished this section last night and ready to move on. As I think, there are really a lot of characters here and I'm having a bit of trouble trying to keep up with them all. Derek is not doing too well after the calamitous night of the murder and big sis Amy-Faye is determined to sort out the problems. With the help of her fellow readaholics. There continues to be little bits of comment about the Orient Express book.
I'll start the next section on Monday, but we will still keep this part active till we are all on board!

Well, it's February first and here is the start to our discussion book of the month (well, one of them) "The Readaholics and the Poirot Puzzle" by Laura DiSilverio.
I know some of you are waiting for the book so you can join in whenever you are able to.
Amy-Faye Johnson is our heroine of sorts here, and she is in a reading group that is reading Murder on the Orient Express! SPOILER ALERT: If you are one of the only two people on earth who don't know the solution to Orient Express, please stop RIGHT NOW! They discuss the ending and whether it is realistic or feasible.
The bulk of the book is about a murder that occurs fairly on (chapter 4, I believe) during the opening party of Amy-Faye's brother Derek's new pub/bar. Complicating the situation is the fact that one of Amy-Faye's potential boyfriends (honestly, do all our female protagonists have numerous boyfriends in the offing?) is the presiding police officer. Amy-Fay's brother is suspected.
I'm only partway through this first section right now, but hope to get through the rest and continue the discussion this week.

All ready to start on the Poirot Puzzle discussion on Monday! I didn't see anything in the nature of spam...

Since the cookie book is free on Kindle, I will upload it and join in the read, if we decide to go ahead with it.

Hilarious!

I'll be happy to moderate the discussion. I'm glad so many are on board with this book! We have a week and a half before we start, so plenty of time to locate a copy (I hope!)

"The Readaholics and the Poirot Puzzle" by Laura DiSilverio is my proposal. The jacket says that a book club is reading Murder on the Orient Express when a murder happens in their neighborhood. So they decide to investigate...

I hope I'm not jumping the gun on this, but has anyone thought about a February read? In B&N the other day, I chanced on a book called "The Readaholics and the Poirot Puzzle" by Laura DiSilverio. I bought it and thought we might want to read it in the group, given the Christie connection. It is available in paperback!

Hello, all and thanks for thinking of my. No, I haven't left, but was busy with the holidays, as Jill says. I don't think I will be in for the January pick as my reading plate is full right now, but I will surely be there for February. So many books, so little time!

Very nice! Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
