128924 You may be right, J. My memory is not what it was!
128924 I'm not sure I read "Thyme" but I do have a copy (I bought many in the series, given how enjoyable it was.) I know we read a few of them, but there are more for me to enjoy!
128924 I have to admit, that was a surprise. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it. I found myself always eager to go on to the next chapter.
128924 Contacting Goodreads sounds like the best option. I don't think any of the rest of us is having this problem, are we?

Back to the story, I guess attempted murder is the most likely given that the intent to kill went awry. Perhaps manslaughter?
128924 I got the Roux book on my Kindle last night, so I am ready. (Reading Sayer's Have His Carcase till we start.) I am looking forward to cooler weather and soup cooking myself. Perhaps I'll share some recipes!
128924 I agree with Sophie's treatment of Alex, who is very patient, and if you've finished, that does pay off for him. But still, she could have taken five minutes to explain things...
128924 What's the problem with them? Maybe I can help!
128924 I think Natasha figured Sophie could never compete and that Mars would be safe with her. They are not married, though, are they?
128924 Finished the book last night, so am ready for the final discussion. I agree that the wind-up was a bit convoluted with the police sting and all. As far as the recipes go, they look pretty standard. Though one of the chocolate cake recipes only called for two tablespoons of butter. OK for a dry, diet cake, but not for a real chocolate cake!
128924 It looks like there is a lot of support for Roux of Revenge, so I will vote for that as well. (Roux: a cooked mixture of fat, usually butter, and thickener, usually flour, cooked, with broth then added to thicken soups, sauces and gravies.)
128924 Pghfan too confused! Too many choices! At the risk of picking a girlie mystery, I am sort of intrigued at the soup lover's selection. In addition to my far and wide fame at baking, I am also well-known for my soups!
128924 Nearly through this last section (less the ending) and lots of startling discoveries occur indeed! Still, though, I have no idea who killed Randy and Arnie, despite no end of suspects! And about the bad chocolates: Oh, the humanity!
128924 I've made it through chapter 25 and am now on to 30 or so. I vote for keeping discussion (and reveal) of the ending to a separate thread, since we are still at different points through the book.

Boy that other policeman is really tough on Sophie. I always wonder why this happens with established "detectives" that have been so helpful to the police for a long time.
128924 I just think that it is nearly 90 today in Pittsburgh so it is hard to think of cooler weather, cozy fires and hot cider. The Leslie Meier one seems to have a lot of support, as does Alchemist's Daughter. Let's see whether something jumps out to the forefront!
128924 I am SO not the bad boy!
128924 I'm afraid I resent men being picked on!! [the only man in the discussion!]
128924 And some of those food combinations Natasha has come up with are downright scary!
128924 I think the flood I just to create tension between Mars and Sophie and Alex.
128924 And why does Kara claim to have shown up AFTER Joe's disappearance, when Sophie saw her BEFORE? Hmmm...
128924 I think you are a bit further in this section than I am. I'm hoping to catch up over the next few days.
