I'd like the Murder at the Palace, but it is not currently available in my library and $5.00 on Kindle. If we go that way, I'll put in a request on hold at the library and spring for the $5, if we all decide. The corned beef one is $15, so that is out for me. On the other hand, the Lady Sherlock is still tops for me.

I was not thinking of Grace at all but was picking Junior out as the culprit, only because he seemed to be the only one left with even a shred of a motive. I didn't think Grace had one, though she turned out to be the main culprit. Quite surprising.
I was also happy to hear about the puppy, though, like some of you, I thought Dylan had adopted him. (Or was it a her?)

Both Study in Scarlet Women and St. Patrick's Day are available from my library, so I vote for either of those. I'm not much into the Into the Night sort of book.

Welcome Ginney! We are a small but warm group!

I’m ready.

That sounds fine with me. I will be travelling for part of the last half of this month.

Maneuvering around the book is one of the things I dislike about the Kindle.

I'm am reading on a Kindle so I can report that I am 73% through the book. The chapters are so long, though, that I don't know what chapter that is. I scrolled back and forth a lot, but I'm still in the same chapter! It's the point where Dylan is staying the night on the couch a second time, having brought potato chips and frozen pizza!

I am quite a way through this as well, certainly past the second murder. It surprised me as well.
What seems odd to me is the lack of suspects. At first, there really only seemed to be Jesse and Sonny. Now, Jesse is dead (after having been arrested), and now Sonny is arrested. Who else is there?
And someone has been hacking the house nearly to pieces, having magical access to it at all times, and someone (maybe the same person, seems to have easy access to Lily's house as well!
I hadn't thought of Dylan getting the dog, but it sure makes sense, now!

No pressure, I just wanted to make sure I was up on what was happening.

I thought we were starting with Deal Gone Dead. I'm almost through it.

Thank you! I've already started!

I'm all set for Deal Gone Dead will should be starting to read today. I had another big dinner party last night, so much of the day will be doing dishes! At least we will be having much warmer weather than this past week! Who is up for hosting?

No, I meant Granny Got a Gun, Tina. I already got the first one, Deal Gone Deal.

I plan to get the freebie NicoleG mentioned, just in case!

I am meeting up with some former co-workers on Friday and made the "Best" chocolate chip cookies for them! Too bad we are scattered about the country so much--I'd love to meet up with you folks and do some cooking!

Thanks for understanding about my decision. I hope you persevering with the book works out for you!
Nicole, I haven't done too much planning for the Christie course just yet, though the first class will be more of an overview and a gauge of where the attendees are in their exploration of her books and movies, and such. I'm not expecting people to read a whole novel during the brief time of the course, but I am considering asking them to read a short story or two, each week for a discussion.

I hope this doesn't disappoint you too much, but I am really NOT liking this book at all and am not going to continue with it. After 150 or so pages, it is just not worth it to me. Enjoy the remaining discussion and I will probably check in on it from time to time.
I already got the next book--Deal Gone Dead, and am looking forward to discussing this with you.

I would like to experience some of the 30's and 40's, well before my time, but I really don't think I'd like to stay anywhere but the here and now!

I finished Aunt Dimity's Christmas a few weeks ago. I have been listening to Nero Wolfe books on CD in the car and have Might as Well Be Dead going right now.
