I've just been rereading this book, and this part made me laugh:

They wove their way through the crowd that was still pressing forward to catch a glimpse of Jackson.
"Excuse me," Olivia said, squeezing past three little girls jumping up and down.
"Sorry." Camilla bumped into a skinny pizza delivery boy, still holding warm pizza boxes.
"Careful!" Sophia said as a woman with her Pekinese dog knocked her camera.
Ivy took control. In her loudest voice she said to Olivia, "What do you mean you don't like Jackson Caulfield?"
The crowd gasped and parted - almost afraid to be infected by anti-Jackson sentiment.
"You think he's a bad actor?" Ivy called out and their path got even wider. Olivia had her face in her hands. "Ivy!" she whispered with gritted teeth.
"We're getting through, aren't we?" Ivy whispered.

When Olivia first met Jackson, she got really embarrassed. Brendan described her as...

Thanks! Yeah, I agree the younger vamps thing does seem like the most plausible explanation. Haha, we totally should! She would probably be really weirded out though...

You know, that's a great point, Sophie. I completely agree with you. Yes, I think I remember her starting to think he didn't want a human daughter or something.

Well, I don't know how it would make it less likely that she would find out, but to be honest I don't think it'll make it more likely either. I can't see Camilla finding out any time soon, because they can't go telling everyone they know and I think it's good for Olivia to have a human friend who doesn't know anything about all of that and stuff. I'll bet she'd love to know though because she's into aliens and all that so I wouldn't completely rule it out.

I do think it will make it more likely that Olivia's parents will find out, however. She can't really tell her boyfriend and not her parents so I think it's a definite possibility they'll find out too. On the other had, they might just tell people when they're actually a threat to the secret and I doubt the Abbotts would get suspicious of Olivia and Ivy really. D'you reckon they'll be finding out soon?

Also, I was thinking, if Jackson does find out, how do you think the vamp community will react? I think I remember in Take Two (MSTV #5) when Ivy was checking if Jackson was a vampire, all she could find was him on a list of most bite-able humans. He must not be all that popular then, so do you think he'll have a harder time than Olivia getting everyone to agree he's worthy of the secret? Maybe it'll start an uprising or something because the vamps don't want him to know! There's so much Sienna Mercer could do with this!!!

I recently reread this book again and I have to say the moment where Ivy and Olivia find out Charles is their dad never fails to make me tear up! Something about it just gets me, you know. :D I couldn't help thinking that Olivia's reaction was a little odd though after what suzanne said in the Vampalicious thread. Olivia was just totally overjoyed when throughout the whole book Charles has been really rude to her! Do you guys think Sienna Mercer just didn't think about this or maybe she thought getting into all that would be too complicated for a kids' book?
