121177 Summer is almost over... YAY! I can't wait for pumpkin season - I will be creating an awesome pumpkin. What are you excited for this coming fall?

July Challenges:

1. Read a book with a title that could also be found on a greeting card.

2. Read a book about the history of America. Double points if it has to do with Independence Day or the American Revolutionary War.

3. Read a book with an orange cover.

4. Read a book that you started but never finished.

5. Read a book told largely in part by letters. The letters can be to the main character, to other characters, or as diary entries.

6. Read a book that someone has suggested to you that just sounds awful.

7. Read a book that has a single digit number in the title.

121177 I never really thought of that..... We can switch that particular challenge to be a product or difference of 7..... Like 257 (2+5=7) or 817 (8-1=7)

121177 I'm not sure - I just picked a random number - but you can check the books you might have on your "TBR" (to be read) list in goodreads because it gives you the total number of pages.

The Summer Reading Challenge begins June 1. Here are June's Take It or Leave It Challenges. Remember that you can participate in all or none - it is up to you. Have fun.

1. Read a book set in a coastal town.

2. Read a book with someone who is on vacation.

3. Read a book with a purple spine or cover.

4. Read a book with the word black in the title or which has a character whose surname is Black.

5. Read that is 347 pages long.

6. Read a book you had to wait a month to get from the library.

7. Read a book that has an odd number of letters in every word of the title.

121177 Glad everyone is enjoying the Take it or Leave challenges - it's great when your book just happens to fall into one of the categories! I hope to have the new challenges ready for tomorrow. FYI -the summer reading challenge begins tomorrow.

5. In honor free comic book day (May 6th) read a comic book or graphic novel.

6. May the Fourth be with you (even though it has passed) - Read a book from a or about the Star Wars franchise.

7. I have been watching chopped a lot lately - Read a cookbook by or about a chopped judge. Meet the judges here.

This month’s challenges are:

1. "Life's a garden - Dig it!" Read a book set in a garden, about gardening or with type of flower in the title

2. Kiss Me I'm Irish - Read a romance set in Ireland or with a character who is Irish.

3. The Future is Grimm - Read a collection of Grimm Fairy Tales.

4. Robots in Disguise - Read a book where the main character is a cyborg or is trying to defeat an A.I. take over.

5. "Baby your a song" - Read a book whose title is also the title of a song.

6. The Book was better - Read a book with a movie tie in.

7. The book I'm looking for is green - Read a book with the color green on the front or back cover but not both.

In order to get points toward bragging rights and notoriety - post your completed challenges and books by April 3, 2017.

121177 Is it February already? Wow, time has flown by so quickly. I’m 9 books in and only managed to get in one Take It or Leave It challenge last month. Many of you have been busy also and it seems our Take It or Leave It Mini Challenge is a hit so far. If this is your first month with us, welcome!

1. “All the great ones leave their mark. We’re the Wet Bandits!” Home Alone– Read a mystery were a character leaves a calling card.

2. You Devil! – Read a book with the word devil in the title, Devil as the author’s name, or that features a devil or the devil.

3. I love cake! – Read a book whose title contains all the letters found in the word cake but not the actual word cake.

4. You’re the one that I want! – Read a book whose author has the same name as your significant other or crush.

5. The book I’m looking for is red. – Read a book with a red spine.

6. When the cat’s away… - Read a book that features the word mouse in the title, as a character or name of a character, or as part of the plot.

7. Commander and Chief – Read a fiction book with a character who shares a first or last name with the current or a past president of the United States of America. (Double points if the name is both the first and last name of a president.)
