The movies do alter it quite a lot, but I'm madly in love with the Jim Caviezel version anyway. ;)

Definitely! I plan on buying the boxset just as soon as I've read some of the books I already own, haha!

Looking at the list of Genres people shelve it as, I'd say it counts as both.
