Love and goodwill are the 2 things that are most important in our life and if your Christmas has these, nothing else is necessary.
There is a website that has this quote and is all about Edwardian Christmas. I thought it was lovely and we want all things lovely for this group.

A World of Songs: Selected Poems, 1894-1921 by L.M. Montgomery (this is actually a poetry book but I thought it would be good as an additional to a work of fiction)

As I had read the first two books, I know Anne with an E diverted from the books. The 1985 TV film with Megan Follows is cons..."
Hi Brian, I'm sorry about your brother. That is indeed an aggressive kind of cancer. My father had cancer but was it was not so aggressive and he lived with it and had cancer treatments for 20 years. But he still died too young at the age of 57.
I also love the opening of Anne with an E. Very beautiful and very catchy. How do the later series compare to the first one?

Hi Diana (lovely name and so appropriate for this group.) I was hoping there would be other kindred spirits out there so it's wonderful to have you on board. Thank you for your kind words and blessings to you also.

Thank you Lesle. It's something I wanted to read this read so I thought why not make a group because there may be others who just need a little motivation to jump into these books. :) I think we all need some cosy, uplifting literature in our lives, and kindred spirits of course.

I loved the Anne of Green Gables series with Megan Follows and Jonathan Crombie; they will always be for me the definitive Anne and Gilbert. I saw the first series of Anne with an E and liked it although the series deviates very much from the books. If you watch it with this in mind I think it's enjoyable. If you want one closer to the books then definitely the 1980's version.

After that, I hope to read 1 fiction a month and 1 nonfiction every month/2 months
