I have enjoyed the first two books. I have a few others waiting on my bookshelf.

1176148 You have to read the mostest, bestest books. There is no arguing with that. I can't say I've read any of those specific books, oh, except Brave New World. I wonder what you'll think of it. Alice Munro is such a great short story author. I've read a few of her collections. Her daughter Sheila Munro wrote an excellent biography of her. Agatha Christie and Maugham are also great authors. I know I took The Stranger in university. I think it was one of those class books I never got into. Timing I think. I had too many English courses and enjoyed other books instead.

Good luck with this challenge

Monstress is so weird, glad you are getting through it. That "elder" monster inhabiting her is definitely some Lovecraftian being; or a cousin. LOL"

Either or... Indeed.

That's an excellent philosophy. So many of my series are complaining they feel neglected.

1176148 Mid - May Reading Update
Completed 8 books, although one was a DNF. Also probably too many graphics but they do make a nice day's worth of entertainment.

Finished
1. Heat Seeker: A Gun Honey Series by Charles Ardai A Hard Case Crime graphic in the Gun Honey series. My guilty pleasure. Lots of action, sexiness. 3.5 stars
2. The Confidential Agent: An Entertainment by Graham Greene This was my DNF so no rating. I think I'm tired of Greene's writing. Not to say he's not a great writer, but I just wasn't in the mood. Trying to decide if I want to keep the other 3 I still have.
3. Tales from Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin (Earthsea #5). A collection of short stories set in Earthsea. My favorite of the month. 4.5 stars
4. Courage to Dream: Tales of Hope in the Holocaust by Neal Shusterman. Graphic novel. Collection of stories, part fact, part fiction, about the Holocaust. 4.0 stars
5. Sugar Falls: A Residential School Story by David Alexander Robertson. Short comic. Stark, depressing setting, one of Canada's worst moments in its history, but ends with hope. Powerful. 4.0 stars
6. Robodog by David Walliams Entertaining middle grade story, neat drawings, fun adventure, featuring Robodog, heroic police dog. 4.0 stars
7. The Girl Who Electrified Tesla by Cynthia von Buhler Another in the Hard Case Crime catalogue, 2nd graphic featuring PI Minky Woodcock as she investigates Nikola Tesla 3.0 stars
8. Monstress, Vol. 3: Haven by Marjorie M. Liu Fantasy graphic. 3rd in the Monstress series. I readily admit that this is a confusing story but the artwork is fantastic and it's a great adventure with wonderful characters. 4.0 stars

Currently Reading
1. To Walk in the Way of Lions by H. Leighton Dickson the 2nd story in the Upper Kingdom fantasy series, featuring lions and tigers and ..... other animals. Set in futuristic Afghanistan, following a group trying to discover 'something' from the past. Love it.
2. The Hundred Years' War on Palestine: A History of Settler-Colonial Conquest and Resistance, 1917-2017 by Rashid Khalidi Saw this in my local and thought I should read it. A perspective on the Palestine from the Palestinian perspective. Off to a slow start
3. The Death Miser by John Creasey Creasey is my May focus author. This is the first book in his Department Z thriller series. I like it so far.
4. How to Stand Up to a Dictator: The Fight for Our Future by Maria Ressa Pulitzer Prize winner who reported from Philippines. Her autobiography is interesting reading.
5. Searoad by Ursula K. Le Guin Le Guin is my 12 + 4 focus. This is a collection of short stories set in the town of Klatsand Oregon, telling the stories of a variety of residents and visitors. Nice and gentle so far.
6. The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson (Stormlight Archives #1) My first exposure to Sanderson's fantasy. This is my tome book challenge too. I like how it's written. Interesting story so far.
7. Meet The Baron: by Anthony Morton The 1st book in the Baron series by John Creasey, written under the pseudonym of Anthony Morton. The Baron is a upper class cracksman, kind of a cat burglar. Good adventure.

In the Mill
1. The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin My next le Guin story. The 3rd book in the Hainish cycle. I've read a couple of times and just want to remember it as I move to my next le Guin story.
2. Six Ostriches by Philipp Schott #2 in the Veterinarian mystery series. It's been my next in line for awhile but I keep sticking books in front of it.
3. Ratlines by Stuart Neville Thriller set in Ireland. Another of those that keeps getting shunted aside but I hope I will read it next!
4. Wanderers by Chuck Wendig My next tome. I've had it for a little while now. Looked interesting.
5. Inspector West Takes Charge by John Creasey If I can squeeze in one more Creasey story in may, it'll probably be the 1st book in the Inspector West series.

Enjoy the rest of your May selections!

My daughter just read this too. I don't know if I want to...
1176148 I think The Road to Oz is my next book in that series. As you say, it's fun. I don't expect great revelations, just like enjoying the adventures. You've had a good month so far.

I didn't realize it was a book. I've had Mockingbird by Tevis on my bookshelf for awhile now. Maybe I should check him out.
