All kids getting boosters? Wow. I think it's only over 16s for boosters here. And it was only last week that 5-11 year olds were offered a vaccine.

Care home residents, healthcare staff and older people (initially 75/80+) were first here then it was mostly done by age. It took a while before clinically vulnerable people were eligible. My parents had theirs before some people I know who are on chemo. All adults were offered their first dose before the end of July.
All adults could get a booster from December if it was at least 3 months since their 2nd dose.

See they're now going to offer dose for over 75s, immunocompromised and those in care homes in the UK

A lovely book - enjoy!"I'm about 20% of the way into it now and it's good so far. I'm intrigued about Eleanor's past.

When people ask me what I do - taxi drivers, dental hygienists - I tell them I work in an office.

Sometimes I wonder if we're ever going to see the end of this virus

Use this thread to post any requests you have for a buddy read - just name the book(s) you're interested in reading and see if anyone responds.
Or just keep an eye to see if anyone plans to read a book on your to-read pile - it could be a good way to shrink that to-read pile!

That sounds scary Carolien, stay as safe as you can. I know lots of people who have been testing positive recently but thankfully none of them have been bad with it.

Since the start of the pandemic I have only hugged one person who lives outside my household.
I don't shake hands either at the moment - we were at an exhibition with work at the end of September and some customers/potential customers were very quick at offering a handshake. I just apologised and said I wasn't doing that at the moment, they took it ok.

Business people have been on our news saying it'll increase confidence for people to go to shops, restaurants etc. Personally it will make me less likely as I think a lot of people will behave stupidly. Social distancing hasn't been mandatory here for a while and I notice a lot of people don't keep their distance. I will be continuing to social distance and making informed decisions about where I go and the level of risk there.

In NI our health minister has decided to end all legal restrictions (except self-isolation if you test positive) and the rules will only be guidance. This is despite NI having the worst infection rates in the UK. Personally I don't think it's the right time for these changes...
