1176148 I started Oil! by Upton Sinclair. I hope to finish it this month. That will put me at 13/16. Win win.

Now to create next years list.... where did 2024 g0 ?

1176148 Finished I Married a Communist last week. It covers the era of McCarthyism. I was a little disappointed in this one, It felt very repetitive as we followed the story of Ira Ringold--a communist in the 50s. A few years ago I read The Plot Against America by Philip Roth and it made to my favorites list but this one did not come anywhere close.

1176148 Finished Fall of Giants last month. it was a great introduction for me to the time period that it covered. I have not read a lot of historical fiction centered around the WWI era. I need a break for now but look forward to reading the next volume next year. As an author it is great to see someone excel in multiple genres. I have enjoyed many of his spy novels.

1176148 ya'll are crazy with these lists. My TBR is already ridiculous.
I will continue to watch what everyone says about the books you read and add things that look interesting to my list. Now I will probably go look a those lists

1176148 so.. I was all set to start another book on my challenge list,(Fall of Giants )when I realized that it was the 2nd book in Ken Follet's Century trilogy. So now I am reading the first book in the trilogyWinter of the World a mere 942 page detour. Hopefully I will get to Fall of Giants soon, Wish me luck

1176148 I go years(maybe my whole life) without reading a book set in Wyoming and this month I read 2!

I am taking a trip to Yellowstone next month so I read Windows into the Earth: The Geologic Story of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Then I picked up a book in the Joe Pickett seriesThree-Inch Teeth.

1176148 Finished Slow Horses. It was a 4* read for me. It is a British spy series with a sense of humor. The TV series follows the story line very closely. Gary Oldman really nailed the lead character.

1176148 I was able to check out Slow Horses from the library so it will be my next read. I have been watching the show on television and I thought it was great so I decided to check out the first book in the series. Lets see how it goes
