Her words were coming out quietly and they sounded as if she needed to clear her throat, yet she didn't. May slowly asked, "As a friend?" Deep down she wished Marigold meant it romantically, she wished for that more than anything. yet Marigold didn't mean it that way. She tried to not think about that, tried to not let herself be tortured by that small thought that became much more than small all in the time that it took for Marigold's response. She didn't do well not thinking about that thought, she could feel the tears coming to her eyes, despite Marigold having said nothing yet.

May felt excited to just be walking around, despite her doing this almost daily, but it was still incredibly fun for her. She wasn't paying attention to where she was walking and accidentally ran into somebody. "Ah! So sorry!" A feeling of guilt had quickly overcome her, she felt so bad for bumping into somebody with their child too. She quickly pulled a coin out of her bag as an apology token and quickly placed it into the man's hand. "Here!"

YOU CANNOT TELL ME OTHERWISE"
once I was like barely twerking on a call while somebody else was aggressively singing cpr

"Hm, okay!" May didn't get any of the signs that it could possibly not be about that couple, she didn't think about how it seemed like Marigold was just blurting that it wasn't about her or anybody she knew, she didn't think about any of those things. She only thought about how it was very prettily described. "Very good!" She thought it was such an interesting thing, to write about people you've only viewed for a little while.
"Huh?" May felt so confused. She felt a flush come to her face, yet she hid it, scared that Marigold might've been saying similar to how you would tell your parents that. It'd be bad if she was getting all embarrassed just for nothing. She felt cold, yet hot at the same time.
"Do you," May paused, "really mean it?"

"But still! Thank you!" May nodded, she told herself that her thanking Marigold was still needed, without her May wouldn't have tried garlic bread. She wouldn't know how amazing it was, even though it seems so simple. She was still shocked by that fact. It just looked like bread with green stuff! How was it so good?
Upon Marigold pulling out the notebook she was curious, she wanted to see what was being written, but she knew it was rude to look over without permission. She asked in a sing-song tone, "What are you doing?"
She smiled when the waiter came, she felt so excited to just finally be able to eat the food with Marigold, she was more excited for that then she was to eat the food. She was just glad to be with her friend.
