116885 Canavan, I grabbed the “new version” of The Night Ocean from NetGalley and was unimpressed. Though one likely had nothing to do with the other.

So far only one story that’s been worth it but I’m not halfway done. I feel terribly behind in reading and even shows I’d like to watch. But I have been baking more and taking exercise, daily walks and yoga, seriously. We have to wear masks in the cubby area but not during class. I bought my own block this morning since we are no longer allowed to just borrow and disinfect the class supplies. I think I’ll spring for a bolster too.

The vegan gun idea was inspired. Tiny seeds blooming you from the inside out, like in Annihilation. But then it just went downhill so fast I passed.

My theory is that the multiple trips created a stronger connection, the bridge they needed for travel. It also helped with word of mouth.

116885 The Snow Pavilion (1995) by Angela Carter ★★☆☆☆
A rich matron’s boy toy has a spooky time at a white doll filled mansion when his car breaks down. Boring.

116885 Kum, Raúl (The Unknown Terror) by Steve Berman ★★½☆☆
Well, that was frustrating. I haven’t spent that much time sussing fact from fiction since The Drowning Girl. While I am now curious to read Lovecraft’s collaborations with Barlow let me save you time (or challenge you to search harder than I did), there is no story called Ignoble Rot and no collection titled Memories of Leng and other Pieces.

116885 Midnight Mushrumps by W.H. Pugmire ★★☆☆☆
“He had never known starlight to be so intimate and coaxing, as if he could step from the solid ground and walk between the spaces of cold stars until he reached the moon...”
This might be my favorite sentence, it’s lovely and evocative. But that is the last of the good news. This was a pointless hallucinatory dream.

For the record I was not big fan of the book, but that’s Lee Pace, looking his regal best, and I’m up for that.

116885 Merlin outlives all his goals...
Or something like that. Never considered what happened to him. In some stories he’s immortal.

116885 Tragic hero ending with a dragon, I’ve heard that before. Did Arthur also get the knife?

That actress went on to play a female Lex Luthor on Supergirl. Also on some Christmas princess movie my mother has watched a dozen times.

Wow, that’s really something. I watched a couple episodes then I was furious at Merlin for lying to Arthur about what a prick his dad was when Morgana showed him the truth. Morgana has a fabulous look.
