Featuring the only vampire short story by Anne Rice, the undisputed queen of vampire literature, and an autobiographical introduction by Ingrid Pitt, star of the films The Vampire Lovers and Countess Dracula, this Mammoth collection brings together thirty-four uncanny and erotic tales by women who have redefined the genre of vampire fiction. From classic stories of the undead by writers like Edith Nesbit, Mary E. Wilkins-Freeman, and Mary Elizabeth Braddon to the work of such acclaimed contemporary authors as Poppy Z. Brite, Nancy Kilpatrick, Tanith Lee, Caitlin R. Kiernan, and Pat Cadigan, this terrifying and tantalizing volume turns the conventions of vampire fiction on their head and inside out as it refashions, and revamps, Bram Stoker's urbane Count Dracula in smart, modern, sexy terms.

Black No More (Excerpt from the novel) (1931)by George S. Schuyler ★★★★★
“White at last! There would be no more expenditures for skin whiteners; no more discrimination; no more obstacles in his path. He was free!”
Boom! This was some serious satire with you-can’t-say-that! shock value. (view spoiler)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Just finished Biohackers, it was good though nowhere near as good as I hoped. Still, that was a hell of a cliffhanger it ended on.

Sister Lilith (2002)by Honorée Fanonne Jeffers ★★★☆☆ This is the story of Lilith told in a casual style.

The Comet (1920) by W.E.B Du Bois ★★★★½
That was a powerful story; eye-opening, endearing, sad, and just a little silly. A poor black man and a rich white woman are the last people left alive in New York, possibly the world. That sort of thing changes your perspective. It also made me think of Jim Carrey: “So you’re saying there’s a chance!”
Ok, I have messaged everyone that allows messaging. Thank you again for a great month and sorry for the short notice.
