Thanks Elyse. I will keep an eye on this discussion and it will let me know whether it is worth requesting/reading when it comes to the UK

Had a look and don't see St Martin's press in the UK. It was HarperCollins who published her previous novel and I don't see it there

I can't see this one on the UK Netgalley. Is this possibly one which is only in the US?

Oooh I just requested it!"I only requested it this morning and got a quick approval. Hopefully the same for you. Happy to organise to buddy read if you get approved. Fingers crossed

Kristie, how are you finding it so far? Hope you've managed to get some time to yourself to get through it

That's me finished. Really enjoyed the book and really like Bryndza's writing style. I'm not a fan of crime/thrillers where there are twists after twists and it all gets ridiculous. I like a good story with a little bit of intrigue and mystery and a good twist at the end. I also really like Kate and Tristan, I think they make a good team. I don't think I will go back and read the previous two books as I feel like I know part of the back story now but will definitely be on the lookout for the next novel. Looking forward to seeing what you think Kristie and Tasha, make sure you let us know what you think of the first books

Liz, I totally agree about the writing style. It's very straightforward and that's not a criticism, he tells the story really well and he's one of those authors where you sit down to read a couple of chapters and are still there an hour later

Tasha, whilst I wouldn't say this book has graphic details there is one particular part which makes for very uncomfortable reading. Don't want to say too much just now but can go into more detail when everyone else here has read it

I'm just over half way through now and still really enjoying it. I like the fact it's not 100 miles per hour pace-wise. The story is coming along nicely but at a steady pace as they methodically work through the evidence they have uncovered so far. I also really like both of the main characters as well

Hi Tasha. Have you read any of the previous two in the series? I haven't but this one has started really well and can be read as a standalone

I started off last night just planning to read a couple of chapters but ended up reading the first 8 (20%). Initial thoughts.....I like the fact that in the first couple of chapters the author gives a limited summing up of the history of Kate. As someone who hasn't read the first two books in the series it was really helpful.
I am also enjoying the straightforward narrative. It's not jumping between narrators or timelines like some books do. Whilst this is necessary and enjoyable for some novels, I don't think it is here and am glad the author hasn't done it. So far the story has been laid out nicely and I am looking forward to seeing where it goes next. Would be interested to hear your first thoughts on Bill.....

I'm starting it tonight but will only read a couple of chapters. It's my son's birthday this weekend so probably won't get too much read either!

Yeah that will probably be my plan.

Hi Liz/Kristie. I have replied on the other thread. I have just finished next of kin by Kia Abdullah so am looking to start a new book now. Happy to start it now or wait a couple of days and start something new
