Hi Charlene. Welcome to the group - you're going to have to tell me the secret of how to stop requesting every book on Netgalley as I'm about 4 years and 580 books down the line on Netgalley and I still can't stop requesting. Do you have any books on Netgalley at the moment that you are planning to read soon?

Just been approved for the new Steve Cavanagh (Eddie Flynn) novel Two Kinds of Stranger.

Been waiting for approval for ages and it publishes in a couple of weeks.

What books do you have via Netgalley at the moment? I'm in the UK (Scotland) so sometimes the books available on my Netgalley are different to those in the US but many crossover and let me join in some buddy reads. P.S. I see you are reading God of the Woods at the moment - hope you are enjoying as I loved that book

Overall I wouldn't say I enjoyed it greatly nor did I think it was rubbish. Probably the definition of a 3 star read however the ending was pretty good.

After the showdown I was anticipating it being left open in terms of what happened to him so to see it ended that way was pretty satisfying.

I have really mixed feelings about this. I am enjoying the story however also feel like it's just plodding along. It's getting slightly more interesting with the murder, hiding the body etc. but I don't feel like its building the tension the way I wanted it too.

I am not sure what I am waiting to happen here - I can only hope for a real twist or something that I am missing

Started reading this one last night and up to chapter 11.

Started off well, although I think this is one of those books where I am going to struggle to keep all the characters straight in my head.

First thought was the strange way that Paddy died, being pushed in front of a train? It seems to be painted as a random attack however it seems a bit strange to think of someone randomly pushing people in front of trains.

Ash seems like a good character, really feel her pain seeing her mum with someone so soon after her dad died and especially someone who seems to 'fit' more with her mum than her dad did.

The first 10 chapters have moved pretty quickly in terms of the timeline and keen to see where this is going

I'm conscious of our different time zones (I'm in Scotland) but I'm going to start tonight too (in a few hours that is)

Anyone started this yet or about to start? I have about an hour left in my current book then will be moving onto this so just wanted to check if anyone is due to start or whether we should delay a couple of days?

I did warn you!...gut-wrenching is definitely the right adjective for it.

I am looking forward to hearing what you think of this one. It's such a brilliant book, but it's so hard to read. Even thinking back to it now gives me an uneasy feeling in my stomach
