1166052 I was going to buy the Avatar game for £50 in PSN vouchers and £20 of my own. Then I discovered Ubisoft+ is on XBox for £15 a month and can be canceled at any time - and includes new releases. Kinda makes sense play it on Xbox for £15 saving me £55 - I'll easily complete it in a month.
1166052 Hi all. Got my wrap-ups too.

362 hours on PS5. 2 plats ;-)

108 hours on Series X. 2366 gamerscore.

PS5 Games completed:
Assassins Creed Mirage
Call of Duty MW2
Death Stranding (I honestly think this is one of my favourite games of all time)
Ratchet and Clank:Rift Apart
Star Wars Jedi Survivor
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
Horizon Forbidden West
The Last of Us Part 1

PS5 games in progress, or binned off:
Warframe (I'll never finish this, it's never ending)
Sackboy (taking my time)
Humanity (binned off)
Wreckfest (binned off)
PGA Tour 2K23 (binned off)

Series X completed games:
Starfield
Planet of Lana
Forza Motorsport
Warhammer 40000 Darktide
Redfall (binned it off)
High on Life
Atomic Heart

What I want to know is how on earth does Deckard find the time for 3200+ hours of gaming lol. That's like a full time job.

Some observations from my side:

I don't game as much as I used to but it would still be under 1000 hours even at my peak.

PS5 is now clearly my favoured platform. I think this is because I buy third party games on PS5 (HDR is much superior on PS5).

I've been catching up on PS5 exclusives through PS+ Extra.

I never buy third party games on Xbox now, only those that come on Games Pass. In fact I haven't bought a game on my series X this year. All games pass. And I expect this will be my future gaming on XBox.
1166052 Morning all. I didn't game at the weekend as I was away. I did manage to play some MW3 MP which I have a love hate relationship with - I like the maps, I have some OK games, very rarely some good games and a lot of bad games being slaughtered. Still I punish myself but one thing I've adapted to a lot better than in the past is sniping - I could barely get a kill sniping in previous CODs but I'm actually doing OK now I've persevered.

Anyway. I just thought I'd say I really like the look of the new Avatar game. It gets good but not stellar reviews but boy it looks right up my street. I'm very tempted to get this at christmas with my PSN vouchers instead of AW2.
1166052 Yea don't know. I googled it and I got back: dungeons, procedurally generated and perma death.
1166052 I enjoyed Origins - not too big and I completed it within 30 hours. I skipped Odyessy. Valhalla was way too bloated and even after 30 hours of mainlining the campaign I wasn't even remotely half way through the campaign. Mirage reminds me more of AC2. However, yes the combat as Deckard says can be frustrating. Parrying etc is fine it's just dodge roll where you get stuck in the middle of a crowd of enemies or a wall - and it feels like you're pressing the dodge button but nothing happens. Stealth is a real pleasure though. Combat can be mostly avoided if you're good at stealth.

I completed Mirage main campaign in 15 hours. So defo not bloated. 100% absolutely everything to get the plat I expect would take me another 5-10 hours-ish.

Looks like an easy plat too ;-). Not that I'm going for the plat.

One other thing is the map is very small compared to the three AC games before it but for me that's no bad thing.
1166052 Morning all. Finally completed Assassin's Creed Mirage over the weekend. I really enjoyed it. I enjoy the focus on stealth game play as the stealth game play loop is so satisfying. By the end of the game I was so good at stealth I could stealthily take out an entire enemy area killing dozens and dozens of enemies without ever being seen. Even a small area with several enemy I could mix it up with throwing knives, blow darts, sneaking in quick succession clearing them all in seconds. The story was ok, nothing special, but serviced the game well enough. My only complaint is the combat (when stealth goes wrong) is a little clunky and towards the end of the game there seemed to be a frame-rate issue - which was helped by enabling VRR. In the end a solid 8/10 on the r-score-o-meter. Not sure what I'm playing next and I think I'll leave my next game to christmas - see what Santa brings me. I'm also still plugging away on MW2 multiplayer - I'm slowly getting better after a very ropey period and I'm even sniping pretty effectively which I've never done before in any COD so that's mixing it up for me.
1166052 Thanks for the heads up on the Terminator deal. £15.99 in the sale. Thing is I don’t know if it’s been bought for me as a Christmas present. What to do lol.
1166052 Morning all. More AC Mirage at the weekend. Probably in the final quarter of the game now. Really enjoying it still and really like the return to the more focussed campaign. Also tried Teardown - not for me. Spent 20 minutes on it and honestly thought it was a pile of crap lol. I know it's been well received but if that's the game it's defo not for me. As I'll complete AC Mirage soon not sure what to play next - it's one of Callisto Protocol, Dead Space remake (played the original) or Alan Wake 2. I do think AW2 might get a small price cut in the christmas/new year sale so tempted to wait. And I'm pretty sure I'll get one or both of Robocop and Terminator for christmas so might push an AW2 purchase until after these two.
1166052 Yea I noticed that too. Better to delay than rush out a sub-par game - I'm fine with it. Reduces the pressure on my wishlist/backlog which is growing.

lol yes! that would be the most sensible! I guess I have an OCD..."

If you keep the PS5 version 'in home' and you make sure the PS4 version is not 'in home' (keep it off) then once you've fired up enough other games at least the PS4 version will slip off the homescreen. In theory ;-). It might not work however with disks inserted - not something I've tried but it might work. If you leave the disk in the console that might help as I think each time you insert a disk it promotes it to be at the front of the homescreen.
1166052 Yea that is annoying. I guess best to let it install and then it never does it again - waste of storage space though.

Yea that's OK. I guess Sony don't want people to hand a disk around just so they can download the PS5 version and never need the disk again - i.e. potential for Sony losing money on full price purchases of the game. I know they've done upgrades for disks in the past but I also know they haven't as well for some games (but do it for digital purchases). No way I'd pay full whack for TLOU2 again but £10 is acceptable.
1166052 I hope they allow the PS4 TLOU2 disk version to be upgraded. I defo want to replay it again one day and a £10 upgrade would be fine by me - assuming the PS4 disk is just there for purchase verification after upgrading to PS5. I know they can do this, they've done it in the past.

I didn't game a huge amount over the weekend. I spent another 2-3 hours on Assassin's Creed Mirage - think I'm about half way through. The combat isn't great. I don't remember previous AC games having clunky controls but dodge/roll is very flaky not responding when you're fighting multiple enemies and makes it frusrating. Otherwise enjoying it. Also been playing COD MW3 multiplayer - I seriously am getting too old for this sheet and I need to give up lol. Some games I'm absolutely slaughtered. If I were only good at the game I might enjoy it.
1166052 Morning all. Played more Assassin's Creed Mirage, around 5-6 hours in. So far it's pretty good. I really like the removal of the RPG elements and back to basics stealth, combat and exploration. I'm struggling a little with the combat - I just cannot train my brain to dodge with the square button and I naturally go for circle but other than that I'm loving the stealth and the chaining stealth takedowns. I'm not a fan of the way it unlocks the campaign missions as it's a bit random and confusing and the HUD mission marker is annoying, one minute it's there the next it's not and you have to faff with your eagle - just show me the marker lol I don't see the need to use my eagle for finding objective markers it adds nothing. Still, really quite enjoying the game. Also played a good 5-6 hours of COD MW3 multiplayer. It's very good - more of the same - but nice to have the old MW2 maps many of which I don't remember. The graphics are insane though they're so detailed and sharp. I did try the zombies mode - it's a bit more like Warzone zombies going from contract to contract in a set time - but after 30 mins I got stuck on some scenery and had to quit the game. So annoying - can't be arsed to play Zombies again after that.
1166052 Yep on default settings this game is rock hard. I really lowered the difficulty slider and then the game became a joy. I think all games should have difficulty sliders rather than the standard easy, normal, hard settings.
1166052 Hopefully the multiplayer and zombies at least contains as much content as it normally does because the campaign is definitely half hearted. I enjoyed the multiplayer beta so I’m hopeful.
1166052 Morning all. Completed the COD MW3 campaign over the weekend. It's by far the shortest COD campaign I've played - think I've played all of them. Probably about 3.5 to 4 hours. And it's a mixed bag. It definitely lacks the scripted spectacle of previous COD campaigns. Some missions are pretty decent. Highrise stands out. Then other missions either last 10 minutes, or start out really well then get really boring or mundane. And the open world missions lack any form of real focus and it's just a go from A to B to C affair doing mundane sheet. Although I did like the mission where the aim is to disarm bombs as the map was a bit more interesting. I don't think it's as terrible as some reviewers make out but defo only a maximum of 5-6/10 and for the campaign length it's unforgivable. I also started Assassin's Creed Mirage - birthday present - but only about 90 mins in but so far so good but very early days. For my birthday I also got £50 of PSN vouchers and I was tempted to buy Alan Wake 2 but I think I'll wait until Black Friday because if I can get two games on my wishlist for £50 I might do that instead. As I wouldn't be able to play AW2 until Christmas anyway.
1166052 Nessy is in there. And he beats the sheet out of you. He's not needed for the plat though :-).
1166052 Even I’ve got the Astro’s Playroom plat. 😝

Yea I really don’t like MW3 being DLC of MW2. The UI is such a confusing mess. I’ve downloaded the campaign - again confusing to work out what I needed to do as it doesn’t look automatic as you have to go into manage files. I plan to start the campaign tonight.
