My new short story is available to buy on eBook from tomorrow (apologies, I am away after today and may not get on the forum until next week). It is available exclusively from my publisher Silver Stream Press. The blurb and the link are below :)
Clinical psychologist Michael Eriksson makes a living from helping others, but after a series of events he is left fighting to pick up the pieces of his own shattered psyche.
When he is called to an attempted suicide on a stormy summer's night, Michael has the chance to save a life, but will it be his own?

It will be available on Amazon at some point, but I have no idea when that will be as of yet. The price may go up also with any takings being split between the publisher, myself and Amazon so it may be best to purchase from the link above if you choose to buy :)
Hope you like it if you choose to buy :)
Thanks everyone!

I wrote it in a week, hence there's no twists or major plot ( which seems to be the downside in its reviews, but that's fair:) ).
Hope you enjoy it though. I love writing Whitworth, he's my favourite character :)

I still see some of the people, but they've not kept it up :(

It's a national thing and I assume it will be decided by judges. I'll have a proper look once I receive all the information. It's astounding she's nominated me, though my tutor came to me in the final lesson and said "You'll carry on writing". I'm the only one she said it to and she's right. There was so much talent in that class. I'm not being down on myself but some of the stuff some people were writing was breath taking in comparison to myself.
Sadly none of them have continued to write afterward which is sad because they had some real talent.

The third isn't finished and has a more extravagant storyline, but I've not been able to finish it since November due to other commitments. I'll be glad when the first draft is finished but I'm not quite there yet.
I must admit, Bittersweet is my least favourite of them all so far, but I think that's because of all the set up with the village and the others just plunge straight in. It's also because I wrote a Bumpkinton story during a creative writing course which wasn't Bittersweet. A chunk of that was used in Bittersweet so it felt like I was re-treading ground when I wrote it. However, I don't want that to sound like I dislike it, I don't. I'm really happy with my work on the story :)
I'm really pleased people have liked them so far. They are quite gentle and the events of the 2nd make it a bit more bitchy which I really enjoyed writing :)

It's interesting you mentioned in the review that some characters are like Little Britain characters, that's not what I was going for at all haha but it's interesting how every reader takes something different from a story which makes it pleasing when somebody takes something you can't see yourself :D
Ignite was a star, she read it just a week or two before publication and spotted a number of errors so she really helped to tighten it up and made me realise you REALLY can't have enough proof readers :)
I have more characters in the 2nd Novella, some I threw into the first for a name reference most Fiona, Henrietta and Erica but there are a few more.
That one is a little bit different to the first and is my favourite of the novellas I've written (I have a third three quarters finished) but I need to go back to the second and just tweak it before it's released later this year :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it and hope you'll pick up the next one when it's out :)

I finished:

I started:

Thank you Linda, I'm glad you enjoyed my stories and I appreciate the ratings you gave them :) Many thanks.

That's okay, Frenchie :) I almost wet myself when I read the above review. I can't tell if I've really engaged a reader or if it's somebody I know being overly gushing. Either way, I'll take it! :)

Lovely short story from a new author.
Do ninjas make noises?
Not sure about that, but I am sure that I've just read a future big 'noise' in the literary world. What a delightful little story. I await future tales from Bumpkinton with eagerness.
If you are unsure, just go ahead and buy it, you won't be disappointed. And keep the name Matthew Drzymala in mind, I guarantee he'll be huge.

I'd love some reviews of my debut novella Bittersweet either on Goodreads or Amazon:

I'm happy to review people's works :) I'm not reading much at the moment, but I'm happy with any suggestions.

As a new author I think short stories are a great way to become an author. Novels can be daunting but short stories/novellas are, I think, a good way to dip your toe into writing without fearing it's going to take you 5 years to write one thing.
