My name is Matthew Drzymala, and I am the author of the award-winning humorous book series, The Bumpkinton Tales.

There are currently two Bumpkinton stories available, The Bumpkinton Tales: Volume One, and the follow-up novel, The Fantastical Gregory Shortbread,

I'm currently working on a children's book, and when I'm not writing... well, I'm writing, because I'm a freelance copywriter in my day job.

Morning, noon and night - writing is what I do.

I love when the words flow and I love it when I have writers block. Probably a strange thing to say, but when that block goes it feels amazing to find the words again.

I just love being an author, I think freedom is the best thing. It's my world and then it opens up to so many readers to explore too and to see how they imagine what I've written and to discuss it with them is brilliant.(less)

Why schools need to think about World Book Day now

World Book Day, it's not 'til March 2020, is it?

Correct.

however, schools need to consider booking authors now - or face missing out on the one they really want.

This year I spent a whole day at a school in Rotherham, but they booked me 4 months in advance to make sure I was available.

If you work in a UK school and want to make sure you get an author for World oo Day 2020, check out my blog post at Read more of this blog post »

Irene Sauman Matthew, I received a warning message that your website is not configured properly and Firefox wouldn't let me connect to it. First time it has ever given me that message. Just thought you should know. Cheers.

Irene Sauman Matthew, I mentioned knowing something about getting your books into libraries. I had attended a webinar on the subject and a new one has just popped up. Link is here for, to be aired Wednesday 29th, but there should be a replay available after for a short time. Register here:
