114553 February’s blog takes a look at two more authors’ reasons for writing. Writing takes up an awful lot of time so why do they do it?

There’s also a poem by a Goodreads member and it sure will make you think. Are we all sometimes guilty of this? Can we change? Does giving an orange, banana or choccie bar help? You be the judge.

I’m also asking you to share on the blog your favourite stress reducers.

The link takes you to a place to ponder and share:

And where can you find a ‘love that never died’? Hide in Time is a time travel romance about someone who regrets having misjudged the man she loved. Ouch!

114553 I can never think of a resolution that I’m likely to remember beyond the first few days. Failure! But I offer you one which will make you think hard, and three which are easy peasy.

There’s also three more answers from authors to the question ‘Why do you write?’ Drop in to

and see what they have to say – what drives them?

PAPERBACK is on Amazon in the US for $4.29 Makes a good present perhaps? I reduced the price and Amazon, the readers' friend, has reduced it even further.

I wish you a happy and healthy new year.
114553 I hope you’ll take a look at the answers to the question “Why do you write?” Three authors have responded. It’s a bit like saying “What makes you tick?” Let’s see what goes on in their heads!

And, as the heading says, there’s a gift for you – a free world-wide gift of an ebook so long as you get to it between 5th and 9th December.

114553 November’s blog post has something for everyone.

There’s something for readers – want to choose an Indie author for me to interview?

Something for authors – want to have a mini interview?

Something for everyone – fancy writing a drabble and posting it in the comments? Go ahead, have fun. A drabble is a very short story – exactly one hundred words, no less, no more.

You’ll find the blog here: https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...

And the cat’s been crying again. Ignored apparently.

114553 Something to dip into - a collection of five short stories:

★Deep in the World of the Dead – Former Army soldier, Ben, tries to settle into civilian life and moves to a new town to audition as a Big Band trumpet player. But when his housing arrangements fall through, he learns how easy it is to become homeless through no fault of his own. Dark clouds sometimes have a silver lining and none shine brighter than those with romance attached.
★Judge Not – You know what they say about assumptions. A holidaymaker in Italy makes the mistake of misjudging and is humbled when, at last, she discovers the truth. Love comes in different guises.
★Angela – Angels come in all shapes and sizes, and some of us have entertained them unaware. As the poet says, “God moves in a mysterious way”.
★A Wonderful World – The loss of a loved one can lead to loneliness, but new doors stand open.
★One Stolen Kiss – Set in 1814 England, this is a prelude to the Dark Moon Trilogy. Daniel, a key figure in the smuggling community, becomes aware of a young girl who will change his life.

114553 Writers write, some better than others. Even Charles Dickens wrote some duds though, so the Internet says. However, I am absolutely sure that my big flop is a bigger flop than Dickens’ flops.

Please rescue it - the hero’s having a hard time, they’re all out to get him and the heroine’s 12,000 miles away and being kept in the dark. Only you can save them from oblivion.

Can you guess which of Dickens’ books were flops? Take a look at my blog post for May:

And you might also like to take a look at best selling author Josh Grant’s youtube video which tells you more, and you get to see a waffling woman too. He bills it as ‘the least professional talk show on the Internet’. I’ve already been told it’s funny - not quite what I was aiming for :)

I don’t write children’s stories and some of you may have children at home who’ve run out of good books to read. Here then is something from Carole P. Roman, an award winning author, whose first big book of silly jokes lives on my bookshelf for all visiting children. This is her second book and it looks like it is also going to get that best selling flag from Amazon.

The Big Book of Silly Jokes for Kids 2 800+ Jokes by Carole P Roman

It's for you to decide, of course.

Let me warn you, you aren’t going to like Chester; he’s not sure he likes himself. Having achieved his burning ambition to become a successful investigative reporter he is forced to hide from others who also don’t like him; in fact, they want to kill him.

Living off the grid in New Zealand, his quiet life is shattered when a stranger knocks on his door and takes him to the gates of Hell and back. He holds onto his sanity through the hope of returning to the only girl he has ever loved.

You are invited into this mystery: intriguing, exciting and deadly.

I hope you will accept the invitation and tiptoe into Chester’s strange life.
