I must be getting old, was watching the news the other day and they mispronounced a word, I got absolutely livid about it. I can't remember what word they mispronounced but they did it three times in a row and I just said it is ------ say it right even an ignorant person like me know how to pronounce it. I wish I could remember the word, another sign I'm getting old.

Think about it. Paper had to be made, a very expensive process at the time for they were using Papyrus. Ivory was a natural product that was widely available. By Ivory we automatically think elephants but then ivory was any large animal bone product.

Ori, I may be a native speaker but trust me if I had to take a test like that I would fail. If I can't work out a word I make it up LOL. As long as I understand what I am reading it matters not if I say the word wrong in my head and yes sometimes it is way wrong.

It depends on how likely the word is apt to come up on a test. No matter how good someone they are not perfect. If they mispronounce one word and fail a test then I don't want to be taking a test like that.

Ori it is only wrong if you say it out loud if you say it in your mind you will never get it wrong, unless there is a mind reader then you could be in trouble.
