The Dark Forest (274 new)
Sep 07, 2013 04:43AM

110998 The words the girl spoke out loud with so much feeling warped through the magical levels of the island to the place, where Dae was walking a path covered with pine needles a few miles away to southeast, and decided to take physical form. A huge branch of a tree slowly and with precision moved back away from the path, waited for the right moment for Dae to come closer and released all the power it had right into the man's face.
Dae swore elaborately, spitting out leaves and needles. It wouldn't be a wonder if he got a black eye or two now.

110998 After having brought Morph to his cave at sunrise, Dae did a lot of practical things here and there on the island. He checked on Riin to see how she was doing, leading Iskilsa through the first room of the Labyrinth. Of course, through the outskirts of the place - he, being a Keeper, didn't have to go through the main gates. He adjusted some energy flows in the astral plane to make it easier for the girl. Then he checked on the current inhabitants of the island to make sure no one was stirring up things and breaking the order - if there ever had been any order on this damn island. Then he decided to leave the shoreside - where the newcomers were mainly spending their time - not to be noticed and went deeper into the inner lands. The man visited the shrine of the Lost Gods - the place needed a thorough dusting and cleaning there for a while now, so that's what he did - and got a glass of ambrosia from the hosts in return for his efforts. He felt good spending time with the divine ones: the dead and the forgotten knew how to keep secrets, of him having returned in particular. And now he returned to the forest.
All together took him about a day - at least he believed it to be so. It was difficult to pinpoint the correct time while in the Labyrinth even for him, there was no way of telling away from the open spaces and the Dark Forest was called so for a reason. No matter the time of the day it was always gloomy inside.

110998 Not really. Just living in the same city and PMing from time to time. :)
110998 ((The creator is struggling to get at least a few logical thoughts out of her aching mind. Have fun figuring out your next step. I'll try to log in every now and then to post the replies. Or else the group will die out without it's most active players.))

110998 Hi. Trying to stay alive here. :) and still hope to manage... But not so sure anymore. If you need anything with modding etc., but I'm gone again, ask Ieva, we're from the same city, so she has better means of contacting me in real life.
110998 The water was coming - just like the light of the sun - from high above, but nowhere in particular. It was flowing along the cave walls and flooding some parts of the cave. There could have been some water basins behind the now visible walls or it could have just been some rain gathered in ponds above and now oozing through the ceiling.

110998 Restoring Sarah as a mod, but please leave the locations creation to me so there is a chance to make changes to the head posts. Hopefully my profile won't disappear. As well as I won't because of my work... -_-
110998 The vases had pretty simple symbols on them. The ones Iskilsa could figure out were a leaf, something spiky rising up like flames, something twirly - probably a stylized image of blowing wind - and a shape round beneath and spiky to the top - a drop of water.
Inside was dust, sand and soil in different state and proportions - some vases were near the water, so the soil inside was moist, with big roots and even live plants having gradually adapted to the high humidity and lack of proper sunlight growing inside. The ones that were away from the water running and dripping along the walls of the cave contained dust and dried remains of roots.
Hello and Welcome (100 new)

110998 Hello to everyone playing!
Sorry for the long (and still progressing) absence of mine.
Will be returning later today during my lunch break to post some more things.
110998 Ladies and Gentlemen
I'm very sorry to have been absent for such a long time.
Unfortunately I'm currently being majorly brain-f***ed and brain-damaged by my job now, which I'm working from morning till late night (early morning next day) practically non-stop and sometimes even without weekends (which I spend to sleep and restore if I get any), and the flow of huge projects at work does not seem to slow down, so my current status is [Ghosting + Modding].
I'll do my best to write at least several posts in the Quest section a day, my apologies to Joe for letting him wait for so long. And if I'm alive at least a bit, I might join the other Locations too.
Hope for your understanding.

110998 ((Yes, they are the hosts of the place))
110998 As soon as he got down he could see that four more vases - to the piece of stone he picked up earlier - still had the main symbols visible on them. The vases too were quite intact.

110998 Lysander is now in the Chara gallery.
Just a note: try not to turn the Hell Fire ability (the rest as well) into god-modding by chance. It's approved as it is, but better not overdo it.
And it seems we yet again got us a pair of natural enemies on set. Before it was Charlie (being a light mage) and Morph (light being his weakness), now Lysander (hell spawn) and Iskilsa (half-celestial).
Have fun playing. :)

110998 Note from the Keeper: Do read this character's profile in the [Request a Character] thread. One of the most thoroughly written so far.

description

Lysander Demetriou, The Hound of Hell Fire
Age: 732, 16 in appearence
Gender: Of the female persuasion when in her human form, however upon transforming into her demonic self, she loses her sex
Species/Race: Hell Hound
Personality:
Stubborn
Lysander is- and must always remain- 100% right. She hates being otherwise, and sees it as a weakness to herself for not knowing better. She often tries to counter arguments with her own witty banter even if it is redundant to the point at hand. As long as she gets the last say, she is satisfied. She is also not one to let go of a grudge... Being a hell hound does not necessarily give her the qualities of innate forgiveness and benevolence, of course...
"I'm wrong? Are you sure about that? Or could it be that I am completely correct but in a different aspect? You have to realize that everything is multi-dimensional... Even facts!"
Passionate
Needless to say, Lysander's personality is much like her hair... Fiery. Never mess with those that she cares for or offend her on any personal level, because she is not one to hold back... She believes in making an impression, so if knocking off a few heads will get her point across, so be it! Her emotions weigh the brunt of many of her decisions, despite the fact that she likes to think of herself in control at all times. She is a woman, after all... Even she cannot suppress that part of her.
Adroit
Lysander is a master of manipulating... Though she may not be in total control of her own emotions, she is skilled in handling certain situations and bending them in her favor. It is a social trait that she uses when she sees that physical strength won't get her anywhere. She often employs her lustful vixen routine in order to wrap men around her finger... But she is also capable of playing coy if need be. She is a good judge of character, and coupled with her huntress instincts, she is good at predicting what reactions she can bring forth from others.
Courageous
In both the Hellish and human realms, you don't get very far cowering in fear at every corner. Despite her youth, Lysander learned long ago to fight for herself no matter the obstacle. She has a great amount of self-confidence in her abilities, a useful thing to have in the face of the most imminent danger. Lysander is a warrior, a fighter, with a heart heavy with determination and perseverance.
Physical Appearance:
Lysander is a rather attractive young woman, that much is certain. She has a delicately-bronzed cappuccino complexion that is devoid of visible flaws. Her hair is a vibrant scarlet-red that looks akin to flames in the sunlight. Her eyes appear hazel from afar, but are actually a molten gold hue.
"Do you see something that you like? Unfortunately, I only wish I could say the same..."
As a hell hound, her body structure morphs into that of a large canine. Standing on all four paws, she reaches a height of 6 feet and 9 inches, and stretches out to over 7 feet length-wise. Her fur is sleek and inky black that bristles at the tips. Running along her torso and legs are red Hell markings. She also has tufts of crimson fur along her hears and the crown of her head. Her tail is 6 feet in length and is lethal when she whips it about with enough momentum.
Abilities:
- Predator Instinct
- Hell-Fire Manipulation
- Feral Mind
Weaknesses:
- Lysander has the curiosity of a puppy... She often finds herself in situations due to her inability to leave well enough alone.
- As mentioned, she has an inborn weakness to anything pertaining to 'light' or of the 'blessed' persuasion.
Background: Lysander was born in this world as the illegitimate daughter of Cerberus. Her mother is unknown, but it said to those that have witnessed her conception that she is part of the fire nymph lineage... Her other half-siblings are scattered along the Earth, and never had she the chance to come into contact with them. Upon her birth, Cerberus trained her up in the ways of the hell hound, demanding that she carry on his name. Upon seeing that she was not progressing as swiftly as he had at her age, he banished her to the human world where she wandered for years.
Family: Lysander's mother is unknown, but it is believed that she was a fire nymph. Her father is Cerberus, the three-headed demon dog that stands guard over the gates of Hades.
Sexuality: Omnisexual, tends to lean toward men
Relationship Status: Single
110998 Some time passed while Iskilsa was meditating, deep in his thoughts. The beams of sunlight shifted across the vast space of the cave, making some stone vases visible to one's eye: Some completely crushed into pieces by time, but some still standing there half-defaced, with the remaining signs being shyly touched by the sun. They still served their original purpose, but now wild flowers and plants have taken root where majestic roses once grew.
110998 "No, no limit at all, unless you get tangled into a situation that requires you to act on a time limit." Riin replied. "You are welcome to stay here forever, but I bet you wouldn't like the idea..."
110998 ((Me? Saying? You are probably hearing voices. XD As a rule there are at least two ways out.))

"Unfortunately that wouldn't be possible." She smiled radiantly. "And don't lose your sword."

Iskilsa managed to catch hold of the root, but the very moment he thought he had it, the springy vine slipped from the blade and returned to its original position.

"I suggest you give the root another try. Or try another root. Or... Oh, you get the idea." She was obviously enjoying the show.
110998 There were these roots of overground trees and plants hanging from the ceiling, a bit away from reach, but with some simple engineering skills one could easily find a way to climb even higher up.

"Need any help?" The girl asked in an innocent tone.
110998 This new tactic was more sufficient and Iskilsa managed to get to the top of the cave, except there was about two more meters separating him from the ceiling, which was also covered with roots like the walls, clutches of dirt and sand crumbling down here and there, disturbed by the movement. The small holes letting the light into the cave were much closer now. And there finally was a tangible air movement, fresh waves of it coming from up above.
